Default Aftermarket Alarm with factory one using one remote

Hey all,

I have a red roadster and want to install an aftermarket alarm system with radar sensor that will protect the interior with the top down while using the factory alarm key fob to activate it thus having both systems arm and disarm with a single remote.

Has anyone made this work?

I think I may have a solution but I am hoping for a better and easier one:

My Solution:

To arm both alarms:

The Aftermarket alarm arms passively and to do so will receive power from a set of latching relays trigger by the lock function on the door every time the factory alarm is set. Latching relays provides 12v to the aftermarket alarm and it will arm itself every time the door is locked.

The Aftermarket alarm will not arm if the Ignition is in the "ON" position - a relay will be tied into this setting removing the 12v to the factory alarm therefore it will not arm. This prevent arming the aftermarket unit when engine in running or accessory setting.

To disarm both alarms:

Using the unlock function, the latching relay is removed every time the door is unlock using the same relay that is attached to the ignition "ON" function.

Input?

Thanks all
