Rear lamp cluster removal. (No photos!)

Nissan say to remove the luggage space side plastic trim(s)..., and the rear trim.......which is all far too involving, just to change a bulb or paint over damage.....
The big problem is an 8mm nut on a stud locating the cluster.

Measure from the foremost part of the oblong in the plastic for the trunk catch..
That will be 63 cm, diagonally down, to the center of holes which will be in the rear of the luggage space trim(s). The two sides look different but, no panic, the measurements are the same.
Hole Dia ? About an inch minimum, but more is OK.
The hole centers will be 8.3 cm vertically up from the flat area below.
A drill will twist up the flimsy sound-proofing behind the hole, so cut by hand or use a hole saw with the central drill very short. Make a device to prevent the hole saw breaking through and hand cut the remainder....or melt the plastic with a heated "sharp round thing"..
Work the flimsy soundproofing to get an 8mm deep socket onto the stud-nut.
The nut is flanged so may catch the sound-proofing on the way out unless you withdraw the nut slowly and have a finger on it.
Lift the top trim off the cluster and undo the two bolts holding the cluster..
Pull the lamp back, out of its two sockets (one red, other blue). You know it only goes one way, back, because of that stud! (Squirt a little lube on the sockets maybe)
Notes:
Nissan say to "replace the seal" but RTV on the nut should do the same job to prevent slight risk of rainwater entry.
Do not overtighten onto plastic. Oil on the "plastic" bodywork is a bad idea if left.
Next time you need to remove a rear lamp cluster, it's a doddle.
