The A/C lines us a VERY thin walled aluminum, so metal to metal contact will rub through over time, which is why we recommend rubber or foam insulation, and you'll be fine.

Just ensure that the insulation will for sure not move, it's irritating to have to replace that A/C line and recharge the system.
