There isn't any excuse for insulting people whether you are talking about cars or anything else.
Saying you don't like and didn't buy an AT because you think the "gearbox/interface of the interior looks girly" is not an insult, wrong maybe but not an insult.
However, telling people they bought ATs because they "aren't enough of an enthusiast" is insulting to anybody who has an AT.
