They are coated in a special grease to keep it from squeeking. Any chance you really really really cleaned your car and wiped all those down with a degreasing agent? That might have done it. But I doubt it unless you really went over it well because that grease is tough to just wipe away. It also keeps the rubber from cracking in real cold weather. You see older cars with cracked mouldings because the grease over the corse of years and years fades. I'm not sure I might be wrong. It then again might be one of those things you cant get rid of kind of like the natural sound of any other part of your Z.
