My only interest in Island drags is because they are having an Import match on June 12th. Last week I went to Atco for their Import Sunday. Made it to the last 4/5 cars in a large class. Lost to the runner-up, same car was 2nd. at the Raceway Park Import day. A very good racer, driving a M.B. roadster auto, that turns 11.70's every freaken time. Since it's hot weather now, my interest is not for better times, but to have fun "bracket racing". It's much harder to compete using a manual trans, but I'm trying. I use a 12.8 dial in, so I can shift a bit lower, & not have to come out that strong & risk axle damage. One run I came out too strong & had to break at the finish line, so not to break out. Result was a win with a 13.09 at 72mph
I don't care for Island. Tried it 2 years ago, & could not get traction, O! & that was with a pure stock 04 Z with 255/17 Nittos. I'm going there because when I go to the track(raceway & Atco) there's never any Zs there. I read that there will be a few at Island on that day. I plan to kick some ***!!!! WINNING!!! sorry, felt like Charlie for a second......sorry for the long story.....
