I experienced that if the trunk wasn't latched the top would not open or close. I now make sure the trunk is latched and I haven't had a problem since. thats funny you say that about the trunk!! i know it was closed as i checked it...but, when i re-open it and close it the top will work once! then i have to do it again to put the top up!! must be bad latch!
