Short answer. Yes. If you have it hardwired so that it is on all of the time, then it will shorten the camera life. |
This is wrong on any relevant scale. The electrical lifespan of these cameras is not a factor here. Would you worry about the sensor in your home video camera burning out? Not in your own lifetime.
