Default Bluetooth Contacts on 2011 Non-Nav Touring (w/Android 2.2)

When I first tried using my phone via Bluetooth I couldn't get any contacts. Here's the deal.... just wait.

If you read the manual like I did (barely skimmed it) then this will help:

Your phone either has an automatic phone book download feature or it doesn't.
  • Automatic Download: Pair your phone per voice prompts in the car and leave it connected for awhile. Eventually your contacts will all be there, full names displayed on the stereo too.
  • Manual Entry: you have to speak each desired contact and number and save in the car's "on-board" phone book for future dialing. I don't know what the ID output will be for this method.

Instructions are explicit in the user manual if you want details Pg. 4-91.

For compatibility and setup go to the link below and enter your car/phone parameters and search.

I am running Sprints Epic 4g (Samsung Galaxy S class phones) on Android 2.2.
