I recommend steam cleaning them! No chemicals, there are a variety of steam cleaning units on the market now and they even sell small wand versions... from your pictures it almost looks like it is imbedded with skin residue and oils. Get CSI to check that with a UV light! If you go with a cleaner I suggest the 3M line...
