Red Line MT-85 Transmission Fluid - Now Available at Z1

We are pleased to announce that we now have Red Line MT-85 in stock and ready to ship out. This fluid is recommended by Red Line for use in 370Z transmissions.

Red Line MT-85

From Red Line:
  • Recommended for Nissan 350Z and 370Z
  • Safe for brass synchros, as it lacks the reactive sulfurs found in most GL-5 oils that cause damage
  • Offers quicker shifts, perfect synchronizer coefficient of friction
  • Eliminates notchy shifting, even when cold
  • High performance gear protection and longer synchro life
  • Recommended for GL-1, GL-3 and GL-4 applications, as well as where most special synchromesh fluids are specified

Just to let everyone know, I had this put into my car last saturday... and its made a very noticeable difference. Shifting is alot smoother, less noise/clanking. Definitely worth it.

Dai and I had a very awesome system of pumping and pushing to get the fluid from the bottle to the tranny after we drained it. I guess that sort of sets up some bad jokes, but you know what I mean. Anyways, be sure to have a good fluid pump handy as you definately wont be pouring the tranny fluid in.

Here's a silly question... how many do I need? 4?

Z1804 12-06-2010 11:46 PM

4 will do it. You won't use all of it but will defimitely use more than 3.

the tranny takes 3.1 quarts. yes i hate how they made it that way. but its nice. empty your tranny.. pump in a lil of the mt-85 let it flow/flush out a bit
seal up the drain plug and then keep pumpin it in. if we got extra may as well use it.

this is what they put in my truck's trans (same 6spd ya'll have) when i got it flushed last time i was down there. noticed significantly better shift quality, especially when cold

This may be a stupid question but it's important to me. I'm somewhat new to owning a Z. 6 speed manual. I bought some royal purple transmission fluid and I dont like it whatsoever, oem is wayyyy better. Is it possible I purchase redline and have my fluid drained and restored with redline? Even though I just had the royal purple put in a few weeks ago? Will this mess up my transmission at all? Thanks
