The lip on the Z1 370, assuming it's the Bomex one is riveted on... >.>

The lip is indeed the Bomex Lip. Bomex was kind enough to sponsor our shop 370Z with one their new pieces. We are very pleased with the way this piece has turned out too! |
I liked the shop - just wish I wasn't so far away, otherwise I would have tried to get you guys to install rotora brakes and stillen intake/exhaust test pipes. Of course Znationals is the busiest time to ask for all that - and after I got told no go by one of the staff, speedforsale cleared out a bay and started installing brakes and sways on a GTR :P
I'm not bitter. ya know. |

It was good to see your car at the show, I am glad you made it up. I wish you could have strapped you car on the dyno though. I know alot of us here would have liked to see the differenc between the regular coupes vs the NISMO. |
Oh I did do the dyno, I was the FIRST to be dyno'd, right after Russell took his 300zx super car of the rack. I was even the horsepower leader in 370z section for almost the entire dyno until a 370z with stillen exhaust and intake and test pipes came in and pulled a 291whp. My sad sad car made the exact same numbers as the stock coupes despite the "NISMO Catback and ECU tune" I swear that Nissan is lying about the 350bhp number. It has to be the same as the coupe - because I dyno'd at 274whp, and just between you and me, I did even have K&N drop in filters. So 4 of that HP could have been that. lol. Sadface.
http://www.the370z.com/members/equin...-base-370z.jpg Oh and Dustin, no feelings were hurt, I was just pumped about the showing and would have loved to show everyone putting big brakes and exhaust on a 370z in the shop. I'm sure it would have gotten a good showing. I appreciate you inviting me, although I was never able to actually figure out which one of the blue shirt guys was you. To be completely honest though, I really felt like the show was just a 300zx fest, and everyone else was second class citizen lol. I don't blame anyone though, twin turbo is twin turbo, ya know. |
Yeah, since the Z32 has been out the longest, and is our primary vehicle we service. We have created a MUCH larger customer/fan base. Therefor attendance is generally Z32. The Z33 crowd has made a good effort in increasing their numbers at events like these.
I hope to see an ever larger presence of Z34's and their owners at events like ours all over the country. We try to make all of the models welcome, even the older 240Z's etc. If my memory serves me correctly, we had 10 to 12 370Z's at this year's Z Nationals. I would really like to tripple that number next year. I have spoken to a number of Z34 owners who would have liked to to have attended, but couldn't due to other obligations. I was a little disappointed in the low number of Z34 owners willing to put their cars on the dyno though. I didn't get a chance to see your NISMO go on, I really wish I had! As for the numbers on the dyno... Keep in mind, all dyno's are different. Some will read higher, while others will read lower. Also, there is a HUGE difference between actuall RWHP vs what is produced at the crank (Generally what manufactures post as the cars horsepower output). As for me....I was working the front tent as most of you pulled into the lot. I was one of the guys greeting you and getting everyone checked in. I later pulled my White '92 non-turbo 300zx slicktop on the dyno. If you didnt see it, you heard it! My the370Z.com homework for all of you: Start taking your cars out to your local Z car events!! I will post different events throughout the year for you guys to consider. Keep in mind, this community has gotten this large and strong by owners being excited about their cars and showing them off. An awesome event for all of you to consider is ZDayZ '10. It will be coming up soon in 2010 and is alot of fun....if interested PM me about it and I can get you in contact with one of the event coordinators for more info. The reason I say this is that rooms/ cabins are booking up fast in the event village and I would again like to see ALOT more 370Z's up there. |

There are people that come up from Miami area. Guys from Detroit Michigan and a HUGE crew from Canada. If you really like driving your car on twisty, curvy roads, you wont find any nicer than these. Mike has been before as well as a few others on here. |
