im not necessarily just tirerack, i go to my local discount tire store to get tires mounted as they have the updated touchless mounters. discount tires also carry a full line of tires, but local stores dont keep the good tires in-stock.. thus i just buy from tirerack as they have them in-house.

if it was for a company mini van, decent tires for decent price is fine.

I guess you don't drive your Z like I drive mine...My "often sideways" driving style means I'm not after traction, and becuase of that driving style, my tires don't last for too long either. I don't see a point in buying tires that are $400 a piece if I'm gonna treat them like crap and have to replacae them after 6 months to a year. :ugh2:

I absolutely hate cheap tires and never buy the cheapeat thing out there...brands like mayrun or archillies tires are not in my radar. The coopers were a test tire because noone had put a 325 tire on a Nismo wheel before (that I could find), so I bought a used pair of Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 325/30R19s off ebay for a test fit (tires that are $450 a piece when new) because I wasn't even sure if 10.5" wheels can take 325s, and nowhere online could I find anyone who has done it...on any car. Those didn't work out because neither Discount Tire, Goodyear tire shop, or any other tire shop I went to could mount them. The reason ended up being that they are Runflats, and the sidewalls are very thick and stiff, so the beads can't pop over the inside lip...so the beads can't seat/seat...because 10.5 is too narrow for those (runflat) 325s. At Discount Tire (which do carry Bridgestones btw), they told me their computer says I can fit 325/30R19 and they offered me these tires, so I bought them for a test fit, I wouldn't of bought coopers otherwise.

Now that I've put a few thousand miles on them though, I'm really impressed with them. For that price (twice+ cheaper than anything else this size) the tire is fantastic...I really have no complaints. There's no vibration, theres no visual defects/bubbles. There's plenty of traction (want it or not), they have a good treadwear rating for a summer tire and I can confirm that as they are taking a lot of abuse without showing any real signs of wear after 5k miles. They seem even quieter than the 3 pairs of Bridgestones, and the pair of Hankooks I've had on... They're a very good tire IMHO. Are they worth it? I'd say definately.

There's limited choice in tires when you get to sizes like that (compated to 275s and 285s). Also, they start to get really expencive in comparrison as well, they don't really have too many (if any) "cheap, bad tires" when it comes to supercar tire sizes...we're not talking 195s and 215s here.

So, and this is out of curiosity, why run such wide tired in the back if you are going to be "often sideways" Do you simply prefer the look? I ask because I always thought a *little* stretch was better for the drift-a-roo.

I prefer the look and the ride. Also, the wider tires take a lot more abuse without decintegrating, I had base 245s on at one point and those wore out withing a couple months. Wider tires last a lot longer when you don't baby them.

Besides, contact patch doesn't increase with a wider tire, it just changes shape...and even if it did slightly, surface area does not add traction because the car's weight gets distribited throughout that surface area, so you have less weight per square, so it amounts to pretty much the same thing. Wide tires are for taking heat and having a lot of rubber to burn, the type of tire compound is what gives you different levels of traction (in the dry)...on different surfaces.

The next set, I am going this route. I can't stand the stretched look. Of coarse the rears will be first. Too bad they don't have 325's in SO4's.

Well, my rear tires are about done. Working on getting my new set of RE11's in these sizes front and rear. Tirerack didn't have the 325/30/19's in their warehouse close by. (25 min. drive from work) So, it looks like I will need to have them shipped in. My local tire shop I use says they will match the tireracks price and take off a dollar a tire. Guess I will give them a shot at my business. I normally just bring my car and tires to them to install.

New tires are being shipped in by Wednesday next week. Will be installed on Thursday. Hope I can make it through all the rain. Not much left of the rears. LOL

Just dropped the car off. 325/30/19's are some wide as tires. Pictures this weekend after a good cleaning.

They look good, not perfect though. The factory rims need to be 1/2 in. to 1 in. wider. Looks like I am loosing some contact patch of the tire on the table. No rubbing issues at all. I forgot I just put them on and had it pinned on an on ramp. I blipped the throttle half way through. I think I may be able to go flat footed around this turn with these tires. Turbo car, not happening...LOL

LOL, these tires have grip for days.

Looking at a new full set of tires, I have 245/40R19 in front and 275/35R19 in the back, looking to pick up some Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position. Will I need spacers or anything done to my car when going larger? I was going to go with the 245 and 285 in the back because I had read others suggest it since it's supposedly narrower on the 275.
