That same thing happened to me brother. I bought a set of vertini drift wheels from element wheels and was told they were guaranteed to fit and the absolutely did not. Scratched the hell out of my calipers so when I called to ask wtf?? The very first thing out of his mouth was "do you have the sport brakes" and of course I did so I was kinda frustrated with myself but also thought he could have asked me that to begin with. I'm not saying it was his fault but instead of sending me a free set of lug nuts that I didn't need he could have sold me a set of spacers. I also had all my wheels on before my friend who was helping me realized they didn't fit and of course it was too late to go to the store to get to get spacers so I had to wait and I hate waiting!!

All of the warning lights went off on the the dash after a few miles of driving and the car turns off at th the first push of the button. Crazy to think that tires could make the car go crazy like that. Thanks everyone for your input. Happy to be in such a knowledgeable and helpful community:tup:

Glad to see it worked out

Your car will love you once you get a wider tire setup post some pics!

yah, one advantage of having the wimpy brakes is that you get much better wheel selection..

It doesn't help that the Akeboners are one of the most difficult calipers to clear either
