IMHO, 100 ft/lbs is overkill and could potentially crack the spacer or strip the nut. 80-85 ft/lbs is fine. Regardless, the key with any spacer installation is to torque the nuts evenly.

I have these for my base rims that I decided to throw back on (needed new tires and these had brand neww ones). If you have a mild drop, 25f and 20r puts them flush. I'm liking the old style base rims, the simple finned design suits the car well.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I just ordered a pair in 20 mm and another in 25 mm.

I'm usually very willing to spend more for quality, but this is such a simple part honestly, and your experience pushed me over the edge to give it a shot. Besides, I just installed a full AL Priority 4 head laser jammer system with the Beltronics STIR radar detector head and HiFi speaker... that has drained my car budget considerably.

Cheap and spacer should not be in the same sentence..

jcosta79 10-08-2015 03:38 PM

I would spend the extra money and get a spacer with extended studs.

Are anyone's Amazon spacers being delivered by drone?

Brendan 10-08-2015 09:51 PM

I have amazon spacers that I use in the winter. They are made of metal and allow my wheels to stick out more. I have not had issues with them and neither did the hundreds of people the left positive reviews. If I die I'll let you guys know.

Lost my 2011 Z just before the holiday (NOT BECAUSE OF THE SPACERS!!!).. for my new (to me) 2013 I am putting on Garageline spacers because they are anodized black (sweeeeet), guarantee the grade of the bolts, and are on sale at a price only slightly more expensive than the generic ones I had before.

:iagree: This is just another example of an instance you can not afford to be cheap. Personally I would never use a bolt on spacer because you could shear a stud on the inside & never know it.

:twocents:YMMV

I prefer bolt on as you're not using a super long stud if you use a large spacer. I'd rather have short and fat as a base than long and skinny.

What hasn't be mentioned is the material. I've seen the actual spacer crack before but what's worse is using poor stud material! Do these cheap spacers even have a number on the back of the stud? My Z1's had no number which worried me. My new bolt on's are 10.9 grade and my stud to wheel studs are 190,000 psi ARP studs. The insides are red locktite down to 90 or 100psi. Wheel to spacer is 85-90psi. Being hubcentric everything should be fine as all the weights on the hub and not the spacers.

This is a good post. The hustle with a lot of consumer products is to charge a lot and hopefully people will assume quality. Its frustrating how little talk there is of how to discern quality even on forums for enthusiast for a subject. I wish I had taken the time to try and educate rather resort to cynicism and sarcasm.

Jayhovah 01-22-2016 11:00 AM

My garage line spacers showed up with grade 10.9 studs. They also look really nice with the black anodized finish. Just and FYI.

kenchan 01-22-2016 11:15 AM

i keep checking in here thinking something bad happened.. lol

Shindigs 01-22-2016 11:16 AM

Haha mine are still going strong. Checked the torque on them and they were perfect. will let you know if that changes *knock on wood*
