But I have no clue about the front, and or what size the side walls need to be,

I also need to know whats a good brand, I would like a tire the is kinda the middle oft he road... I need a good street tire. Something that has good grip and will not wear out fast. Thanks in advance for your help :tiphat:

I would like to put wide tires on the rims..

RoadsterST 04-15-2014 03:38 PM

305-30-19 rear
265-35-19 front
Some manufacturers do not have a 265. In that case a 275-35-19 will also work.

These are the sizes I'm moving to next tire change

Michelin PSS are a forum favorite.

I've heard good things about the Continental Extreme DW series, but I have yet to try them.

I'm going to try the Bridgestone S-04 Pole Positions next. A set of four 19s in 275/305 runs under $1K from Tire Rack

I'm not a fan of their soft sidewalls after driving a friend's Z with them for a few laps at COTA.

DEpointfive0 04-15-2014 04:06 PM

What are the offsets again? +23 all around?

And how much camber?

Wonka2581 04-15-2014 07:00 PM

My rims are a +22 offset, and no clue on camber...

FairladyZ10PG 04-15-2014 08:14 PM

I'm a fan of potenza RE11s! But horrible under rainy conditions...

I'll definitely look into it.
May swap them for street and use PPS04 for track. I really like them for the track so far.

What air pressure was your friend running? It makes a huge difference in feel and traction.

They are all a soft tire built for performance. When you step into this grade of tire, short life, compared to an all season type tire, is to be expected.

I understand, but I kinda would like something that will last at least 15,000 miles. If I can

RoadsterST 04-15-2014 11:05 PM

If you dont plan on any driving necessary of extreme grip, go with an all season performer. Much better life

Edit: just did a quick search and you're stuck with high performance in a 305...lol

I think the S-04 are by far the cheapest of those three.

I actually do not know. He had driven down from Houston that morning, and I don't know whether the guys in the garage doing the inspections actually adjusted tire air pressure or not.

I agree it can make a huge difference. He has plenty of track time, so I would expect him to recognize and acknowledge that fact.

What I can tell you is I had the chance to drive 3x 370Z on the track that day. My Nitto Invos at normal pressure (it's my DD) did not feel near as soft as his Hankooks felt. The stock 2013 Nismo was much firmer as well, but I have no clue what the tire pressure was :twocents:

PSS's are sold out until end of the month in most of our sizes and the sets i was looking at were 1400-1700 shipped

ended up ordering RE-11's in 305s and 265s. should be arriving any minute at my house actually.

then get an altima.jkjk

seriously though i dont how anyone on these forums gets more than 15k. several people have, but they must be all highway miles. i get between 12-15 MAX.

get the S-04s ;)

Waiz 04-16-2014 11:26 AM

255-35-19 front and 285-35-19 rear is what I would run, perfectly fine for a daily driven setup

Wonka2581 04-17-2014 03:45 AM

I like a fat tire look, is there much diffrence between 265 to 275 ?

275 is wider lol

the fatness or height is the second number and thats the ratio of the wide in a percentage......i think lol

Wonka2581 04-17-2014 07:18 PM

Ok so will a 275-35-19 fit with no rubbing issues? On the front

It should... Have you read through the Meaty Tire Thread? The last few pages are talking about this same thing. I have 265/35 on the front with Swifts & 15mm spacers and there's room for 275's.

Will I need spacers?

FPenvy 04-21-2014 12:00 AM

My 265/305 setup works without spacers. Put about 300 miles on the car this weekend with them no issues
