It does. And no need to go above 9.5" if you're going 285 square. Keep the weight down and no stretching if tire brand changes.

no need to go above 9.5" wheel if you're going with 285 square?

I wouldn't do 285 on a 10.5 but that's just me.

but you wouldnt run a 285 wide tire on a 10.5" wheel? but above you said you shouldnt go above 9.5" wheel on 285....you're advice is conflicting

Yeah. What's confusing? If your doing 285 tires there's NO need to use a 10" or 10.5" wheel. There's NO need to go above a 9.5" when a 9.5" wheel will be perfect. Not only is there no need, you shouldn't.

Correct. A 10.5" wheel is to much for a 285 tire in my book. Again correct. You shouldn't go above a 9.5" wheel if you're using a 285.

You drunk? High? Or just trying to be confusing to yourself?

Just wanna say, one thing everybody is forgetting here...stretchness of the tire is a function of both width AND sidewall height. 275/40 on a 10.5 wheel is less stretched than 275/35 on the same wheel.

What do you guys think is the upper limit (most negative) for camber on fronts for daily use? Im gathering camber helps reduce rubbing slightly , just wondering whats too much since the stock specs have a decent range to them.

No more than 2 degrees for daily.

Yes. Same with the -0.5 to zero front camber and -2 rear. Car handles like **** compared to a correct alignment.

my nismo didnt come with a -2 degree rear camber. it was -1.4/-1.6 from the factory (AFTER A 1" DROP IM -2)

where are you getting your info? the same tire book?

How would you know your factory camber? Who aligns a new car? Most people do a before and after but the before already has the lowering springs on so that doesn't count. There's no way with OEM everything your front was that low, you'd be out if spec per nissan. Spec is -1.4 to +0.1.

Every car is different. Spec is -2.2 to -1.2 rear but it will always be more rear from nissan which is retarded, like a 285 on a 10.5.

Any book in the world. Ask one people on this forum if they think rear camber should be more than the front. You almost ALWAYS want -1 more in the front. For the track I plan on -3 front and -1.8 rear. For a good handling street car would be -2.5 to -2.0 front -1.5 rear.

i had to get new tires shortly after purchase so i had it alighned for sh1ts and giggles.

and i never said anything about my front camber settings. i was strictly talking about the rear

OEM i was within spec. (id hope so!)

after a 1" drop im at front: -1.7 rear: -2 (no camber kit used)

a 285 on a 10.5" rim isnt retarded......

It definitely isn't "retarded" if the tire fits well, and especially if it runs wide. Just like certain shoes run big and certain run small. Certain tires mushroom pretty good in 285 width on a 9.5" rim as well in reference to synolimits response. Too much mushroom definitely isnt desirable either. Again, i can see where both sides are coming from though.

Again, tire depends, but I'm still more comfortable with 10% over. Typically, smoother ride, more sidewall protection, less chance of popping a bead. IF I'm at 100mph plus doing sweepers, I want zero chance. I want a good looking mushroom. Not a square or a round ball as posted.
