Yokohama Advan AD08R Size Help

My apologies for starting another tire size help thread, but I am trying to decide on the optimal size setup for my stock Nismo wheels. Any feedback is appreciated. I have included the sizing available in the chart below.

The stock Advan Sport sizes are:

Front: 245/40ZR19 26.8" Diameter
Rear: 285/35ZR19 26.9" Diameter

I am leaning towards either:
Front: 265/30R19 25.4" Diameter
Rear: 295/30R19 26" Diameter

or

Front: 275/30R19 25.6 Diameter
Rear: 305/30R19 26.3" Diameter

Thanks! :tiphat:

Thanks for the input! You think it is okay to have a larger diameter in the front than the rear?

LostSol 11-18-2013 02:53 PM

the most important thing is to have a very close diameter, so those would give you .3" difference while using a /30 in front would be .7" difference.

In other words:
Front: 275/35R19 26.6" Diameter
Rear: 305/30R19 26.3" Diameter

.3" difference

Front: 275/30R19 25.6 Diameter
Rear: 305/30R19 26.3" Diameter

.7" difference

Makes sense, thank you! I could run the following setup with only .2" in difference, but the width difference front:rear would be much larger:

Front: 255/35R19 26.1"
Rear: 305/35R19 26.3"

or even
Front: 255/35R19 26.1"
Rear: 295/30R19 26"

Thoughts?

Im guessing youre going with the AD08R's because you want the most grip, so why not go as wide as possible? The 275s will give you the most front end bite and will reduce understeer

Yes, you are correct. Mostly looking to put power down more efficiently. I think I will end up with the 305/275 setup. Thank you for all the help!

Just wondering where did you pull that chart from? I'm looking for something similar

It was pulled directly from the Yokohama website. Tire Rack has similar information, but their chart was incomplete for this particular tire.

Thanks!

Hi. I ran a 265 and 305 setup and went down to a 295 rear, less nose push and tyre fits rim much better.
I track my 370Z once a month and with the 265-30 front and 295-30 rear setup its great. Hope this helps.

Thank you! That is very helpful. What wheels are you running? I was thinking the 305 would be okay on the Nismo rear wheel since it is 10.5" wide, but would like input. Thanks again!

I'm running 275/35 front and 305/30 rear Hankook RS3 tires. Watch out for the front though. It all depends on your ride height, wheel width/offset, and alignment settings. I'm running stock alignment with 19x9.5 +22 275/35 up front and bashed in my fenders pretty good LOL. I hit a pothole and the wheel straight up bent my fender tab and pushed my bumper out. Something to watch out for when running super meaty tires. Then again most track guys say to run around -2 camber in the front and around -1.7 rear 0 toe all around I think (I might be mistaken though, don't quote me on this).

Anyone else with additional input? I am hoping to ride the stock Advan Sports out until spring, but would appreciate any other feedback on sizes for when the time comes.

Bump for ideas! I think I'm 90% decided on 305/30R19 and 265/35R19.
