What problems can be caused by spacers?

Hello all,
I still waiting for my car and I get it with 35 mm spacers on all wheels, what damage can a spacer do? Do you think I should use those spacers only on the rear wheels?

Thanks!

35 is A LOT... Too much to be honest.

Number one concern is wheel wobble if they aren't installed correctly

DinT 10-29-2013 03:49 AM

Well I know its alot but this is how I bought it.. I guess it installed correctly cause it was a personal car of a Nissan's dealer in Germany...

If the Z has the Rays wheels, 35 is too much. But yes, just like what DEpointfive0, wheels might wobble if the spacers are improperly installed. Worst case is your wheel (with the spacers) will come off.

Ok, worst case is you might die.

Haha i like your humor.. ill get it checked next week when ill grt the car... and why is it too much on the Rays?

I'm running 20mm front and 25mm rears and they're pretty flushed. I could go 25mm all around, but 35mm will be too much without a bigger drop and more camber.

Thanks..
Love your Z btw...

Does it have aftermarket wheels?

And maybe 35 in Israel is like American 25? Lol

DinT 10-29-2013 08:39 AM

Nope.. The 19" Rays.. lol 35mm is 35mm everywhere... beside.. my car is coming from Germany haha...

tonythetiger 10-29-2013 08:39 AM

cant you potentially break wheel studs if they are stock during hard cornering??

(Sorry if this joke hits close to home... Considering you ARE in Israel)

But maybe the Germans lie about the size because they don't want to give up control? they ARE German after all...

DEpointfive0 10-29-2013 09:06 AM

Honestly, 35 won't fit without MAJOR camber

Hi OP.

If I understood your post by reading through the thread. You have 35mm all around?

I ran 20mm on front and 30mm on rear on stock Sport Rays. Had a little camber on the rear -2.7. Within spec of stock.

Like everyone said, spacers can be dangerous if they are installed incorrectly. I would suggest to take off your wheels to take a look at the spacers to see that they are in working condition.

Takes a little more time out of your driving, but better safe than sorry. Assuming that everything is ok is just taking a chance on safety and $$$.

Take a look with your own two eyes and make it 100%. You'll enjoy the car knowing it is all in working order.

Exactly what im gonna do when i get the car. Thanks !
