No more Te37 19"?

So I have been on the market looking for Forged Te37 in Matte Black for about 2 months now in 19x9.5+22 and 19x10.5+12. Every shop that I have contacted tells me that they have them only to find out that they only have Te37SL and Tokyo Time Attacks. They tell me that they no longer make the wheels I want in 19" so what am I to do now? I figured alright my only option is to go with SL or TTA (I hate the chrome lip) but now they don't offer the color that I am looking for. Do I look for different wheels? I love the look of the Te37, but this search is near impossible. :ughdance:

If we can get an order of 5 sets we will do a special group buy for the matte black TE37SL if you want.

Powder coat to what ever colour you want.

GetYourWheels 10-16-2013 04:56 PM

You can do that as well. We can powder coat for 250 on the set when you purchase a set of wheels with us.

overrated rims

Just be thankful you can not obtain anymore because they are so so played.

Grindkiezer 10-16-2013 05:20 PM

I know that they are "over rated" in some sort, but I do like the design. I was looking at other wheels as well, like HRE but I guess I haven't seen that many Z's with other wheels. And I know I could powder coat any wheel that I get but that's an extra step that I would like to avoid

Are they really discontinued? So Rays isn't manufacturing gunmetal, mercury silver, etc., 19" TE37s anymore?

Yup, just spoke with another shop who contacted Rays and he confirmed that these wheels are discontinued. Not sure if it's just in these dimensions, or just in general but either way I guess I'm gonna have to look elsewhere.

This sucks, but I'm sure they'll be back on the market in a few years; much like the GT-S which made a short-lived comeback. If that's the case, might as well get a used set and just repair and powdercoat them.

zero 10-16-2013 05:45 PM

Check this out, http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...me-attack.html. You can re-finish them the way you wanted.

Grindkiezer 10-16-2013 05:59 PM

Yeah I was looking at those actually but I don't want to deal with having to repair them as well. This alone is pretty bad http://reprehensible.net/~sig11/fs/IMG_1899.JPG

vividracing 10-16-2013 06:04 PM

TE37SL in 18" is a solid pound lighter than the standard TE37, powdercoat is your friend, the SL is cheaper and lighter and planning on being around for a while. If you found one last magical set we'd be talking you down off the ledge the moment one gets curbed.

TerribleONE 10-16-2013 06:22 PM

First iv heard of this.. guess im glad I grabbed mine when I did. I dont care how many people say they are played out, I love my TE37s!

Grindkiezer 10-16-2013 09:09 PM

I'm thinking of just going with SLs even if I may have to powder coat them. I thought about it and I guess I'd rather have a back up just in case something ever were to happen to my wheels. Knock on wood. But knowing if anything happens you don't have a replacement has got to be nervewracking. It sucks that I have to go with something that isn't my ideal setup but oh well, shìt happens. I'll let you guys all know tomorrow what I end up doing, the shop I'm thinking about going through is getting an estimate on custom color and everything so that I may not have to do it myself.

So what exactly don't you like about the SLs? The finish? I think they'll look great on your Z.

I was just going to ask the same thing, my set should be here by the end of the month.

I think if you get a customized blue sticker or something, it would look great.

The SLs have a unique look to them, no second guesses of you rocking replicas either.

FairladyZ10PG 10-16-2013 11:26 PM

Only difference I know is that SLs don't have optional center caps, which to some people matter.

They're meant to be used for the track, besides you can get adaptors.

I think that the Sls have a more concave look to them, even though it's subtle I notice it. Also the bends on the spokes on the Sls seem to be more rounded where the forged ones seem "sharper". I know that they're minor differences, but when putting down the money for wheels it's nice to get what you want  I'd be happy with either set, as long as I can get the set up I like. And I'm one of those people where no center cap bothers me

The Pressed Graphite TE37SLs look great. But if ever purchase a set, I'd prefer the simpler gunmetal/darker silver finish; similar to the '13 OEM Z34 wheels. Center caps and adapters are also a must.

The matte black SLs look great. I didn't even like matte black wheels before getting mine. in person they are stunning. the two below are both +12s. the +22s are less concave.

And center cap adapters are available so you can run any Volk center cap you want.

yea, the matte black FTW! i love mine!

There's a difference between something being played out and something being classic.

Lambo doors on something that isn't a Lambo = played out
Lambo doors on a Lambo = classic

Flashy cubic zirconia wanna be jewelry = played out
Rolex or Omega watch as your only accessory = classic

Varrstoen or Rota replicas of quality JDM wheels = played out
Authentic, track proven, ultra lightweight Volks = classic

Claiming any wheels are played out while rolling on stock wheels = played out
Educating someone who doesn't know what they're talking about = classic

they are race quality rims...definitely not flashy.

Saying they are overrated is like saying varrstoens are underrated
