I have cut the sidewall on my original bridgestone with 4000 miles on them and I am going to replace only the front set with RE970AS will that work?

I don't think I understand the question. Are you looking for fit? Yes they will fit if they are the right size.

Yes you "can" mix tires. Just be warned that different rubber coupounds/tread patterns can yield odd handling characteristics.

yes, it will 'work' per se, but can not be recommended due to different hydroplaning resistance. in the dry, might be sort of okay.

well assuming hes comparing the tires performance wise (from reviews on them) no the won't hold a candle to the re05a's your replacing. your going from a max performance summer tire to an all season. ride quality is supposedly good but considering i don't give two s**** about ride quality your on your own there.

see that's the the kind of thing joke or not that leads down the dark road to turning this into the 350 forum. If serious about that GFY my next set is going to probably be RS-3's although although i'm looking into finding something more predictable. I really need to find something sticky in an 18 thats affordable and comes in the 285/305 combo.

I'm not searching cuz i'm not asking you, merely stating that's where i'm at right now in my hunt for tires besides, I don't have the time to search and then sort through all the threads where you told people to go search or google. I don't use the forum for tech advice i just share, I know people IRL that i learn from that have more experience than you ever will about auto racing and tuning because they (and I) actually do it professionally.

Also FYI the 350 forum is a place where personal arguments like this, get aired out in a totally irrelevant thread, like this one, instead of being taken to PM's. It is a place where a noob posting a dumb questions is hrown into an incinerator like you guys did to the poor OP of this one instead of just posting "I didn't understand what you're trying to ask about, did you mean performance, ride, safety, wear or some other type of comparison between them?" It is a place where sponsors must pay through the nose for membership, and there are a hundred adds on every page because the forum has become an unofficial buisness. A place where kill stories are regularly posted, and the persons who post said stories are regulary banned, where the MODs take personal vengeance upon people they don't like, and where you have half the forum playing a big game of who's is bigger.

And also if you think i said something wrong in my initial response mister Kenchan your F***ing wrong buddy, are the RE05a's a great tire, no not really, but they will beat the piss out of just about any all season in the dry, performance wise only.
