New wheels

1 Attachment(s)
So I got my new Work wheels in today, and I'd been waiting for these for two months. The work Gnossis come in a black shadow finish which is black face and black lip and a matte black face with brushed lip. The black shadow finish was a few extra hundred, so I asked if I could have an all matte black wheel and me and my vendor misunderstood each other and I was sent with the brushed lip's instead. Don't get me wrong these wheels are gorgeous but it kinda sucks when you've been expecting one thing and get something else. My plan was to black out my car, but now I'm debating just keeping theses instead of having to wait the other two months, or maybe powder coating them, but then that would be out of poket as well....:shakes head:

I like them:tup:. IMO if you go blacked out all around, but keep these wheels, the silver lip is going to stand out and catch people's eye in a good way. Makes it look like you are drawing in their attention.

I think cars that do this (with any all around color) look like they're really serious about styling of the wheels/car as a whole.

Stinks about the misunderstanding with you and the vendor though....

Jasonle 05-15-2013 11:32 AM

Those look badass! I would keep it like that

Yea like I said they're awesome looking wheels, I'm thinking of keeping them and maybe down the road if I really want to, I'll just powder coat them, as I've already contacted my vendor and unfortunately they wouldn't be able to change them

kenchan 05-15-2013 11:36 AM

i would have your vendor replace them free of charge. might take 2 additional months, but considering the price, might be worth the wait.

I called them as soon as they opened, but I guess because of the misunderstanding they said they wouldn't be able to change them, he only suggested powder coating them but it would be out of pocket. I'm not bashing my vendor because honestly their customer service was awesome and I got my wheels even before the expected date

Volk Z 05-15-2013 11:46 AM

They do look good but im always a stickler at what i wanted is what i get... If its not what you ordered then i would think the vendor needs to at least pay 50% of the powdercoat as thats what you ordered right? Just a thought

i donno...at that kinda price and wait time, did your vendor not give you an email or scan of the order? it should be written down on document what you ordered with the offset info, colors, etc. i still think it's a vendor problem.

sucksarse. :(

but honestly, those wheels look pretty damn :yum: maybe just mount tires on them and run it then?

raymondo510 05-15-2013 12:06 PM

Well I thought I was pretty clear that I wanted and all black wheel when we talked as I was comparing them to the shadow finish, and when I received the email confirmation it stated that the wheels had the brushed lip and I responded asking if the wheel would be all black as requested and the vendor ensured me they would be, but when I called this morning he thought I only meant the center caps and hardware, wtf.....

enkei2k 05-15-2013 12:53 PM

raymondo510 05-15-2013 01:16 PM

I think i remember telling you to go with these specs! They will look awesome!

Another option is you could just wrap the lips in a vinyl... do any color you want.

Yesssir:tiphat:

I considered doing that or doing that hydro dipped thing, maybe doing a cf lip? I saw dirty_shoez old setup and thought those wheels were pure awesomeness

I cant say i would do a fake carbon fiber look, im only about the real deal.
I would say vinyl because if you go hydro dip they will probably need to take the wheel apart and i wouldnt trust someone doing that and putting back together. The hydro dip is like a liquid tub, so unless you did the whole wheel it would need to be dissassembled.

If you go vinyl then if you get sick of it you can easily take it off or if say a wheel/tire place scratches it while mounting you know the lip is still good.

Volk Z 05-15-2013 01:27 PM

How about matte black vinyl with a red pin stripe?

raymondo510 05-15-2013 01:42 PM

Yea I don't think I would either, but his wheels just always looked really good to me. I think I'm gonna just keep them as is now and if I decide to change them down the road ill wrap them or powdercoat them

Did you have some trouble with them?

I will never do business with Vivid. Google their treatment of customers, specifically the Subaru world. I saw enough people get ripped off that they'll never see a dime of my money. I'm glad you at least got something from them, even if it's not right. Many people didn't even get that. They make Agency Power, too, so that's off my list as well.

Back on topic- I love the wheels. I'd put them on.

yah, back in 2002-2003 when i had another car, they sent me a cf rear spoiler which had running clearcoat. they weren't willing to help me out cause they said it was a manufacturing issue, nothing to do with their store or something. they said i would have to pay the $50 or something to return it to the store which i thought was bs.

i ended up wet sanding it and polishing it out to smooth. looked great afterwards, but considering i spent a chunk of change on that spoiler, i should've been treated better, imo.

after that ordeal, i haven't bought much of anything from them.

My customer service experience with them was pretty good, they always answered my emails and questions, obviously this didn't go as planned, but I got the best quote from them on the wheels, but after this I'd be a little skeptical about ordering from them again.

Liquid_G 05-15-2013 03:02 PM

sucks that its not exactly what you ordered.. but wheels are hot regardless.. That rear lip is massive. Just don't do anything stupid like plasti-dip them lol..
