Continental extreme contact dw vs hankook v12
Time to replace the OE RE050A tires on my T/S with 19" rims. I loved the RE050A's but the cost not so much. I'm looking to spend no more than $1K for the tires alone and I'm looking at the Continental extreme contact dw and hankook ventus v12 for street use only, no track or auto cross. Both are well liked here, if I wanted to come as close to the RE050 in performance. What should I do?

DW's for sure.
if youre low on cash, also check out the sumitomo HTRZIII's at tirerack. they're asymetrial and supposed to be pretty decent for the price. |
Getting ready to install my 3rd set of tires. Loved the OEM Bridgestones with the exception of noise and wear. My 2nd I purchased the Hankook V12's. Loved the price, noise was better and wear was better. Only downside (what little it was) was the sidewalls are a little thinner and softer in the corners. This next set I'm trying the Conti DW's.. The reviews on these are about the same as the Hankooks and they're slightly higher cost. As far as ratings acroos the board go (traction, noise and wear) on these there tires. The Bridgestones are least, Hankooks are better and Conti's are better than Hankooks. I think this has been the general concensus in the forums regarding these brands.
