In need of expert(s) opinion

Hello All,

I am a relatively new member to the forum & I joined for just these scenarios.

I have a '10 PG Touring/Sport Z and the stock (I think) tires are ready to go. I am in a delima with spending the money to replace all four tires for my stock 19's (which I don't think are terrible rims) or spending the cash to get some new wheels.

I bet most of you will naturally say just get new wheels but I find it hard to commit to spending 5k on wheels. I have been looking at some te's or gt-s wheels because you all make them look so good! I am open to other color/rim combos.

If I do decide to get new tires for my Rays I've seen people going wider then stock. Does this have a advantage?
What are some more quality reasonable wheel/tire packages available?
What's the consensus on 19's vs. 20's?
Whats a good offset for our car? I don't like the wheels to stick out of the fender.
I see the word spacer being thrown around a lot. Is this due to not getting the appropriate offset to start?

Sorry for the lack of knowledge but I appreciate all of you help with this. Seems like most of you have been around the block a few times.

When it comes to ordering new wheels there's a TON of different factors that come into play as far as sizing and offsets. Honestly you don't have to spend 5k on wheels to get a nice set. I just ordered a set of Works for under 3k ofcoarse that's not including tires but its definatly cheaper than what you stated unless your looking at a 3 piece custom wheels which will be more than that.
With running wider tires on the stocks I think most guys do it for the wider/beefier look, so if you just plan on DD its not needed to run a super wide tire like a 305 unless thats the look you want.
If you plan on ordering a custom offset I don't believe you should need to run spacers, some searching around the stickied threads will give you good ideas as to what others are running and how they look. I went with 19x9.5+15, 19x11 +10 which will poke a little bit, but I plan on lowering my car so I will get the flush look when I adjust the camber and don't plan on running spacers.
The only difference between 19's and 20's is that 20's will fill up the wheel gap better, but will weight more, so depending if your going for form over function thats something to consider, plus tires are gonna cost more everytime you need a new set. In the end it kinda comes down to preference and I'm sure others will have different opinions but I hope this helps you give you a better idea:tiphat:

Look in the classified section as well. Lots of nice wheels from trustworthy members. I picked myself up a set not too long ago

You don't have to spend 5k... I traded my wheels for a set of nice wheels for an even trade
