Goodyear tires swaying

I have a 09 370z sport package and have not changed the size of my wheels/tires, they are the 19'' sport Rays.. I just got some new rear tires, and they were from GoodYear... I have to say, my bald tires made the car perform better.... Its so bad that I almost got into an accident today, has anyone heard of why the GoodYears make my car sway so much? It rides like I'm pulling a trailer and whenever I accelerate it just wants to go left, then right - maybe up and down who knows.... It rides like crap.

Anyone know of this issue?

:eekdance:

I believe the general consensus on tires is give them time to wear in. If they are brand spakin new then this is probably what is happening.

Different compound tires front and rear can cause irregular handling on our cars. Just wondering what the new rear tires tread wear rating is versus the front tires.

This happened to me when i got new rear tires... I thought it was just a sales gimmick when they told me to get all four, it should tone down over the next few hundred miles. Mine did, either that or i got use to it and don't notice it much. Until then be careful!

What tires did you get? In that size, the only Goodyear I could find were all season ones. You have summer in front all season in the back.

Shouldn't be a problem if you were just driving normally...were you driving it aggressively?

Do you have a different brand of tire on the front? If so that would be the reason. We need more info to help you.

do a quick burn out and rid release oil from the mold. that should get your tires gripping better.

which goodyear tire is it?

How typical, guy complains about his tire preformance but does not give tire information. Then when asked, he ignores everyone. :shakes head:

I have 4 Falken FK452 275/35 on my Z that are about 50%. Whenver it rains or the ground is just a tad bit wet I get this. Feels like you are barely able to grip on ice as your car moves diagonally. Just slow down and get different tires next time. Thats what Im going to do.

kenchan 02-19-2013 02:22 PM

tires that channel water very well: bridgestone S04 pole position.

... and no one cares. lol

In case you missed that, I was kidding

Interesting? I wrote Goodyear cooperate office asking why they don't make tires for my 2012 with sports package. My Z is 15 months old. I don't need tires but I was just looking what was out there and I recall Goodyear writing back and they said they don't make anything matching the size (both front and rear) with ratings like the RE050 that came on the car.
