Tire Trouble Need Help!

I got a nail stuck in what may be the sidewall but I'm not 100% sure. Firestone told me to replace it but my mechanic said that he could fix it. Here is a picture. If we do need to replace it what would a good tire option be? I have Potenzas now but am looking for something a little less noisy and, if possible, less pricey. Thanks.

That seems fixable to me patch or plug it. Not to mention you still have tread. Wear them down some more before coming out of pocket. Continental is what I have read people are mounting that are priced pretty cheap and decent.

yah, fixable i think.

make sure the place you get patched has a non-touch tire mounter. otherwise expect loads of mounting marks on your wheel.

:iagree: A plug-n-patch and some skill can fix that.

Patches are preferable to plugs but either can be done on that.

Im going to want to patch it up. By the way do you have a non-touch tire mounter because I don’t want my rim to get all scuffed up. Oh you don’t well just plug it up then without un mounting my rim. Oh you can't….. ok all take it elsewhere. Deuces.

If that's a front tire, then I'd replace the tire. If a rear tire...patch it.

I would get it patch, I had 2 nails in my rear tire and Discount Tire, did a great job for me in patching.

not the sidewall....patch it. Just realize that with a Patch, you can't track that tire. JUst an FYI

If your a costco member, you should be able to take it in where they will fix it for free! They also do a patch over a plug. I worked there for a few months.

Use what is called a patch plug best way to fix this. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/02/02/utemypyp.jpg
