If you are just taking the face off, no sealing required. The inner and outer barrels will be sealed, but the face won't. No need to separate the two halves. You don't even need to take the tires off the rim for doing faces, just deflate them and take out the valvestem core.

Im a little confused on not having to remove the tires, and if I wasnt removing why I would.need to deflate and remove the valve stems thanks for all the help mike

just to be safe. keep the air pressure from putting excess force on them when the bolts are out. Probably overkill, but its easy to do.

The valves on 19/20" SP3s are on the outer barrel, might not need to take those out
