Need Advice on wheels

I have been wanting to make my rays sport package wheels matte black for quite a while now. And I just need advice on how to do it. Professionally painted or powder coated?

Don't tell me to get different rims because I love mine. Just want them black

I would recommend using PlastiDip first, to see if you like it. If you do, then either leave on or get them powder coated. If you don't like the look, the stuff just peels off. PlastDip will spray on and dry to a matte finish. If want more of a satin/shine to it, can sprat PlastiDip clear over it.

professionally, either way strip them down. remove the tires, center caps, wheel weights tpms ... everything. if you are taking them somewhere everything else should be taken care of. i'd go with powder coating personally as it would hold up much longer

i already know I like it so i dont want to plasti dip. and I was leaning more towards the powdercoating. I just saw other people were painting them.

Powdercoat hands down, here is a ick of mine that I just got back. Even got stripping done on them too, also done by the powdercoater.

I prefer the look of painted wheels but people swear by PC'd wheels

There are literally tons of threads on either topic if you search

Does the paint last good?

I would say powdercoating just because it's a lot more durable than paint and it is cheaper to do.

I simply had my powdercoater paint them by hand, just as he did the time attack ring and the rays eng., forged lettering, and the area outside of the center cap. Just paint the nipple, the section above the actual nut, sockets dont come in contact with that area due to them being deeper then the nut itself so it will never get sractched or flake unless you accidentially come in contact with it. Pretty easy. You can clearly see in the first picture that only the nipple is painted and the nut is not. And you would be shocked at the different colors, sheens and textures they can powdercoat in. Plus they can also powdercoat in multiple different area multiple different colors, just as you would with paint.
