no on the all season i dont want the tire to look fat and i want a tire that last me this time what do yall reccoment i still want a low profile tire like what i have now how much bigger of a tire is the a/s vs the supersport? im curently running falken 452's

The "Size of the tire" is decided by how much tire you want on there... Not the brand/type of tire.

A 275/19/40 tire in SS is going to look the same as a 275/19/40 A/S Plus.

What you have to decide is what width/profile you want to go with. Hope that helps. :tiphat:

SS hands down. I guess you DD your Z which is why your considering an All season tire but here is the deal. A summer tire is made for one thing dry traction and that's what it does perfectly, you do get some wet traction but dry is where its at. The summer tire is useless in the snow and dangerous at temps below freezing. And all season sounds like the good choice cause it does everything but it does not do everything perfect it does them decently. It wont handle snow as good as a snow tire and it wont handle as well as a summer tire in the dry.

You should probably talk to someone local that knows more.

If you want a tire to last longer, you need to go for the all season - tire life is (roughly) indicated by the tread wear rating and the PSS is rated at 300 versus the A/S at 500, so it should last considerably longer. The OEM tires are 140, so extremely short tread life.

Of course, tread wear also reflects how much grip the tire provides - the longer the tire lasts, the less grip it has.

The OEM tires have a 40 sidewall. You won't really want anything Less than a 30 for what your driving style/conditions are.

I live in the Northwest Seattle area and my wife drives our '10 370z coupe w/sport pkg. Our odometer is turning 19k and its time to replace the stock Bridgestone Potenza 050a's. If it's snow or ice, she takes our 4w truck to work (20mi roundtrip). Our winters can be very wet and if she happens to get caught in some bad weather, I thought it might be best to try some all seasons. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S seem to get fairly good reviews but has anyone here actually run them on their Z with the sport pkg ? Also, is it true that tread wear ratings can only be compared to tires by a specific manufacture ? For example, a tread ware rating of 300 by one manufacture would not necessarly be the same as another manufacture ? Just looking at the two tread designs between the A/S and SS, one would think the A/S would displace water much better than the SS ? Please, any more comments on the Pilot A/S vs SS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the inputs, Z Bear :tiphat:

You are correct; even though the standard for which treadwear is tested is "universal," it is done solely by the manufacturer and can be very arbitrary. That's why it helps to compare mileages to see if two manufacturers' standards of treadwear are comparable.

PSS hands down!!!!

We run the PSS on just about all our GT-Rs and Zs, its an amazing dual purpose tire and you can get crazy mileage out of them.

super sports are pretty much the "alternative" to the RE11's here... super sticky (not AS sticky, of course) and with good treadlife.
