What Tire Gauge are you Using?

Seems like a minor point.....But given that Tire Pressure is so important for a number of reasons, I would interested to know what Tire Pressure Gauges you are using. There are literally a ton of choices from the very cheap to the insane..The real question is what is the best gauge to use that is the most accurate.

Just to be clear the TPMS sensors installed on every vehicle is primarily used for "Safety". So what that means to me is that if no warning light appears on the dash you just have a safe amount of pressure in your tires....not the appropriate amount of pressure. There is a difference.

I personally have a Brookstone digital gauge that cost about $60. I occasionally check the readings with an old pencil gauge I have in the garage and there's usually a difference of about 2 psi between them. I just don't trust either gauge and have been thinking about a Accu-Gauge ($20 Analog Model on Amazon) which i saw being used on one of those Car Cable TV shows on Velocity.

Would be interested to hear what you are using.

Using a digital guage is the only way for an accurate reading. I have a Blue point tire guage from Snap on, around 35.$$ http://tire guage.jpg

I would generally agree as my Brookstone unit is digital and well built. I was doing some additional research and the one gauge that people seem to review as being calibrated to within 98% accuracy is the Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge, Dial Type, 0-60 psi.

I have used this one for about 3 years.

Personally I don’t like the digital ones and or pencil type at all. The one Anthonyy is using seems like the one I have without the house.

It would appear that the analog types, if handled appropriately, seem to be the most accurate and dependable. Like any tool or instrument you get what you pay for. I tried a Harbor Freight digital gauge ($7) and just threw the thing out. I will probable buy the Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge as most people on Amazon feel it is accurate..price is about $45.

I use an AccuTire digital gauge with a 0.1 PSI display:

I had a digital AccuTire like this but after a year or so it became really inconsistent so I broke down and bought a Longacre at the track and couldn't be happier.
