Sport Package Wheels - Need Help Deciding New Tire Sizes
 

I have the factory Sport Package wheels/tires. I've pretty much settled on RE-11's, but I'm having trouble deciding on the size. From browsing around, it seems 265F and 285R is the popular option. However, I see some folks sticking with the 245F and others going 285 all around.

This is my daily driver.. I do plenty of spirited driving so I would assume bigger is better, TWSS, but comfort is a little important as well (not sure if these are the factors people consider when deciding on width or if it's just a price thing). What is the best way to go?

I have seen the same as you stated, (265, 85) but also, 265-95 setups as well. There are a couple really detailed threads with some of the most favorable sizes.

Definitely for your setup, similar to mine, (daily driving/ spirited driving) I was going to go with 265, 295s I believe. :)

yah, 245/40/19 with 285/35/19 or 265/35/19 with 285/35/19.

I decided to go with 245-40-19 as I did not want to mess with the speedo and lower the front end. I am dropped on Swifts and pretty much scrape everywhere as it is!

I DD on 275/35/19 square all around, if you need to rotate tire, u can mount and dismount...

How about 285/35/19 all around Ken? please advise. thx

285/35/19 square will fit, here is the rear 19" wheel in the front on a 275/35/19

beemaa- i can't comment on that cause ive not tried it myself. if you need tight turnability i think a square setup is a good quick way to achieve that. i only drive street so im keeping mine either 245/285 or 245/275 depending on the sizes available for the tire i want to get. :)

I am also driving street but I do like meaty tires :yum: unfortunately 265/35/19 is not available on Conti DWS which I like very much. They are only available on Conti DW. Just want to double check with you to make sure putting 285's on fronts without any issues. I am running stock rays btw :tiphat:

I went with 255/35 and 295/30 on my sport wheels

beemaa- personally, i wouldn't do it. use stock sizes or 285/35/19 (nismo stock) on the rear. :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm going to go with 245/285.. I actually hadn't noticed these were stock sizes for Nismo. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me! :tup:

jason the nismo wheels are 19x9.5 and 19x10.5. not that running 285/35/19's on your 19x10 will pose a problem.

Yeah, according to Bridgestone, they're good for 9.5-11 wide wheels so I should be fine with 285 out back. I'd probably go 275, but the sidewall AR on RE-11s is 30 and I don't think I want that low of a profile.

The front is what has me on the fence. I always read wider is better for grip so I want to go 265, but thinking about what everyone's posted, speedo being a tad off (I'm sure it's so minute that it shouldn't even be mentioned), being slightly lower and scraping going from a 40 to 35 (again, probably negligible since I'm on stock suspension), I think 245 will do. Either way, they're great tires. I'm sure I can't go wrong. Any other benefits besides wider contact area on the 265 fronts?

You do know that your speedo is more accurate with the bigger tire right? The factory speedo is off almost 2mph
