Kumho Ecsta SPT or Hankook Ventus V12?

Which one is better for a DD nismo with no track use.

kensnismo 05-12-2012 08:12 PM

Have the hankook Ventus on mine and they are fine no problem grip is good and tires quiet on road.

Mike 05-12-2012 08:19 PM

whichever are cheaper.

I've got the V12s, but haven't driven on them yet.

Hankook +1

kevr6 05-13-2012 03:01 AM

I've had both and the Hankook wins!!

JAYNO20 05-16-2012 09:31 PM

Just ordered the hankooks! Thanks!

Better be hankook cause mine arrive Friday. 305/25/20 and 255/35/20 for 845 shipped with an 80 dollar gift card on top of it. Not bad :)

Yeah that was part of the reason I went with hankook, the 80.00 gift card was a nice incentive...

I was filling out the paper work for the mail in rebate tonight and noticed the wording seems to suggest that the "set" of tires (4) are supposed to be all the same size. I sent them an email to make sure I still qualify with the staggered set up that is stock... Any input on that?

Carbon_z 05-16-2012 11:11 PM

Well I did read the disclosure statement on the website
Of the organization ad considering I've worked at a Lawfirm for
Close to 8 years, legal wording is my speciality. It stated on the state that a set of
The same tire. But did not mention that size had a factor In obtaining it. I don't think they would have sent it to you if you didn't qualify. When I get mine in on Friday I'll
Check it out. I saved the the actual webpage incase I have to dispute it. ;)

Don't know why people like the Hankook so much. Maybe it's the price? They're not that grippy and the side wall is on the softer side.

Kumho just release their Ecsta LE Sport. I personally have not tried but have heard some great reviews about them. My next set of tires on my daily wheels will be these.

Vbp6US 05-26-2012 02:09 AM

I have the Hankook V12 and I'm not too impressed. They aren't all that grippy.

kevr6 05-26-2012 05:20 AM

I just ran a new set on the Tail of the Dragon and I thought they performed well.
What are your alignment numbers??? If that's your setup in your Avatar then no tire is going to work well for you.
Note: They did take a couple miles to warm up!

DeEePiDDy 05-26-2012 07:54 AM

I have kumho's on my rear Nismo wheels (oem Yokohama on the front), and haven't had any problems at all.

Mr_Cann 05-26-2012 05:01 PM

guess for daily use it really doesn't matter if they're grippy or not but thats just my opinion...if you can save money on whichever is cheaper is always a good thing right
