Another shoutout for Modbargains! Sportline TE.6 (Volk replicas)
Hi guys,
Just wanted to thank Modbargains for a pleasant purchase. Frank was great to work with and was extremely responsive. The wheels came very quickly, packaged securely. Having spent all my car budget on the GTM Stg 2 SC, I was trying to avoid spending a lot of money on wheels, but I wanted to add some more traction with a wider wheel and some stickier tires, so when Frank posted the Sportline TE.6 wheels, it grabbed my attention. Another reason I wanted to buy some replicas was because I'd feel pretty shitty if I damaged a nice Volk on the track. Researched what I could and Sportline makes replicas for the BMW crowd, and almost all of the reviews I found on them were positive -- the wheels are light and being rotary forged (cast still, just a better way of casting, as I am told) are decently strong. I was able to find one bad review of them on the BMW forums and that was about a clear coat finish not being that good. I took a chance on the TE.6 and so far I've been pretty happy. The advertised weight is accurate, I measured it on a bathroom scale (which unfortunately only goes in 0.5lb increments). The fronts were about 23lbs, the rears between 24 and 24.5lbs. Fairly close to my stock sport package Rays, and few lbs lighter than some other Volk TE37 replicas. The fitment is good, my car is dropped about an inch and there is no rubbing running 265/35/19 and 305/30/19. The front is fairly flush, the rear could use a spacer, but I don't care enough to put one in. The powdercoating seems nice, but I can't comment on the longevity yet. If you're on a budget and want a lighter weight replica, check out the Sportlines, and talk to Frank at Modbargains. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5159/7...90f55581_b.jpg http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5111/6...b855d6f1_b.jpg |
Glad I was able to help you out!

I might have missed it, but what wheel size/offset did you go with?
|
I think they only have one offering right now, and that is 19X9.5 22 in the fronts and 19X10.5 22 in the rear.
|
looks great! Now I just have to look out for you on the roads :driving:
|
too bad they dont offer 20 inch size for these replicas !
|
Had a chance to snag some of these but didn't know how they'd look on my silver z. Looks great on black! :) nice!

How did you do on your track event by the way?
-Frank |
Do you have any other pics down the side to see how flush these wheels sit? Im so close to buying, but according to offset calculations, base wheels with 20mm spacers sit out further.
|
Sweet, another brand of replica wheels.

Maybe you should research who makes these wheels and why they are much better than most replicas you will find before talking down on them...they aren't rotas. |
Oh these are the best replicas?
Tell me what type of cancer is best to have? |

Any updates on these?? how are they holding up?
|
They're holding up just fine. Haven't had time to take em to the track yet, but normal driving, washing and wear, I have no complaints. The finish has held up well too.
|
if your sole purpose was traction, those tire sizes would have fit on your sport rays without any issues and left you with less weight per wheel!
otherwise, 3-4lb more isnt bad compared to most replica's as you mentioned. |
Yeah, I was actually thinking about it this morning and trying to find some smaller 18" lightweight wheels just for track days.
Not that I get to track anymore with two little kids and a new house closing escrow tomorrow taking up all my time and money... ****. |
