RE050 Tire Life?

I bought 2 new tires last August when my car was at 9k miles, now it's at ~15k miles and my mechanic pointed out that the tire tread is almost gone and at the 'wear bar'. Is that normal? I don't drive THAT crazy and I think the dealership I went to may have not actually replaced my tires I really don't trust them.

My RE050's went to 25k miles and that was on both 370Z's. Oh and one alignment and that was when the rear cambers arms were installed after lowering springs installed. Probably a bad alignment caused the excessive tire wear.

approaching 15k on mine, should get 20 out of the rears, 25-30 out of the fronts.

mine wore half around 4k so this is normal if you use the factory alignment.

Haha....it's called keeping the air presure at the proper rate, good alignment and dodging potholes. Oh...and not smoking the tires stop light to stop light against every Prius.

i only got 8k and they were perfectly bald... no tread.

one function aside from skinny pedal is highway vs corners, straight and steady is much easier on tires, same with smooth roads.

I think he was referencing to my post and burn-outs. Some tips for preserving tires and the differences in road conditions. At least that is how I read it.

so far, I'm at just over 10k miles, with a tiny bit of tread left. Only 2500 of those miles were put on by me though, the rest were from the previous owner. 15k isn't bad at all haha, that's just what happens with sticker summer rubber.

Our G managed 12.5K miles before the rears were next to bald.
