Need some user input on continental tires

So currently I have 265f/285r RE-11s. Now I know quite a few people love these tires but they don't last long. I maybe put 7k miles on them and will be needing to replace them. They cost me almost 1800 after warranty and install. I don't want to be in that price range again with the same outcome. I am looking at the continental extreme contact dws. I will most likely go with stock sizes. I do occasional street racing on back roads that we close down and I have my drag radials for the track. I want tires that will last longer and still give me the right performance when needed. Has anybody used these tires?

I use Conti's. They won't give you the grip level of top-end tires like RE-11's, but they're still pretty decent performers (much better than their high treadwear rating would suggest) and they last a really long time, even with track events thrown in the mix.

A lot of people get confused about the models, because of the confusion between DWs (plural of DW) and DWS. The "DW" stands Dry-Wet, it's a performance summer tire, it's what I run, and probably what you're looking for info on. The "DWS" stands for Dry-Wet-Snow, and it's a supposedly-winter-compatible tire with a very different tread.

I have the DW on my Z, & DWS on my Maxima(front wheel dr.). The DW look better & give a better ride(no thump). Both are cheaper, better & last longer than the stock tires that came with my cars. Handling is below a race tire, but better than needed.

Wow thanks for the info guys would I be okay with 255/40 285/35? On the re11 I have 265/35 285/35. Not sure if I should get the same setup or not. I have the 19" rays

Assuming the 19x9 + 19x10 Ray's on the sport package, personally I'd go for what you had with the RE-11: 265/35 + 285/35. You could make a good argument for either 255 or 265 in the front, and either 275 or 285 in the rear, all in 35-height and in any combination, depending on preferences.
