Eh they aren't that bad lol. I'm actually from the Frisco/Lewisville area so i know exactly where you're at lol. I moved out here to Hawaii about 5 months ago.

Mine is the stiffest one.

iamwagz 02-21-2013 06:37 PM

Must be the GF. Any more pics of your cars on these springs guys. Not looking for a really low drop like the swifts... Chris' car looks great.

I'm in Australia, our roads are pretty **** here and I need to be able to get in and out of parking lots and stuff. Ill be on 19"s soon and want a less aggressive but still nice drop.

Would like some suggestions on what tire sizes i may get for a wider set.

18" x 8.0" (front)
18" x 9.0" (rear)

Current tire stock set: 225/50WR18 / 245/45WR18

Not sure on the offset, but everything is still stock. No springs or spacers.
Will most likely add spacers in future when its time to get new tires.

silentnightz 02-25-2013 07:01 PM

Is anyone running stock 18's on a sport package z? I'm trying to build my winter set early. I was thinking stock 18" with Bridgestone LM-60. My concern is the front caliber is so big it might not fit.

Mike 02-25-2013 07:15 PM

stock 18s clear the sport brakes. In other world markets, thats how they come on the car.

Illmatic370z 03-06-2013 07:44 PM

Question just installed my nitto 285/40/18 on the rear, and my brake, abs n traction indicators are on any clue on what's going on?

Well upgraded front and rear tires to 255/45 & 285/40 . Now just need to lower the car and work on suspension.

Did you get the problem fixed?

Illmatic370z 03-10-2013 05:00 PM

Yes the problem has been resolved , front tire diameter were to small causing a Christmas tree effect of lights to come on.

They'll fit, only thing is since they are staggered you won't be able to rotate them. Not a big deal they'll still work but if its just a winter set up a square set might be more beneficial/last longer. Just a thought, good luck!

hoyauyau 06-21-2013 01:43 AM

thank you so much for showing the pics guys, finally i made my decision that i just ordered a set of 18" Rays wheel today!

I test fitted some oem 18" 350z wheels on my Nismo. I was just trying to get an idea of what size tires I should go with since I have a set of 18" TC105N's on the way. The tires on the test fit wheels were 245/40 and 275/40. My front lip was literally 2 inches off the ground and I still had about an inch of wheel gap. I was thinking about going with 245/45 and 285/40 so at least my Z would be drivable on the street. Is that too tall of a tire? I'll have about the same overall diameter as if I was stock with 19"s. I'm just worried about the look.. I mean I could go with a smaller profile tire but I'll have to raise the suspension and have ugly wheel gap, but there is no way in hell I can go any lower.

MJB 06-21-2013 10:32 AM

See what I mean? With the test fit wheels with 245/40 fronts my front lip barely off the ground. So do you guys think with my new 18" wheels a 245/45 and 285/40 would look ok?

iamwagz 06-25-2013 09:23 PM

Wow, that's too low. Tbh I think with the Nismo kit you need 19s mate. 18s look good on a stock-ish body, but add a bodykit and you need 19s.

Your Nismo would look great with some Work Kiwami in 19" imo!

martin82, is your set up drivable on the streets? Looks to be pretty low.

martin82 06-25-2013 10:26 PM

my car is very low, I still DD the car but get a few scrapes here and there you can see it on the bumper and also have a few scrapes but nothing major. Car will be raised about 1/2", this car doesnt not like being dumped, I broke a rear camber arm that way on full compression.

clintfocus 06-25-2013 10:27 PM

Sorry MJB, I know you pm'd me a few weeks back about getting pics for you on my setup. 255/45/18 on front and 27/40/18 on the rears.

WANT THESE 18's-----> WORK Emotion XD9 – 18×10.0 in Limited Edition Matte Blue Finish | RavSpec

iamwagz 06-29-2013 09:33 AM

Would love to see a set of XD9 on a 370! That's what I was thinking of doing, but when I asked the question of whether they'd clear the Akebono brakes, all I got was "they'd look too small get 19s".

MJB 06-29-2013 10:29 AM

I was just browsing around on Tirerack, and RE-11's now come in 275/40/18. What do you guys think? 245/45 and 275/40 for a 9.5/10.5 wheel setup.

It would work fine. I thought about going that route originally but decided to go another route. I actually just placed my order last night for my new set of BFGoodrich Rivals in a 275/35/18 and a 295/35/18. Shorter then OEM but I'm ok with that. Running same sizing as you on wheels of course. My current set up is a 255/45 and a 275/40 posted above.

Would going shorter in overall wheel/tire diameter with stock gearing cause slower acceleration or anything? I want to go with a 40/35 profile for front and rear but with the Nismo body kit, the car is just too dang low, unless I raise my coilovers and then I would have ugly wheel gap.

chrischhorn 06-29-2013 01:29 PM

Shorter tires actually cause shorter gearing which in turn would have QUICKER acceleration. Not too mention depending on the tires, it is also a bit lighter so less rotational mass can also help increase acceleration also. Is it going to be super significant? No but I've already got 4.08 gears installed and now I'll have shorter tires also lol. I'm fine with wheel gap. Won't be massive but there will be some cause function > form :driving:

What would you rather have for track duty??

18x9 +20 front, 18x10.5 +15 rear with 265/40, 295/35

Or

18x9 +20 front, 18x10.5 +15 rear with 275/40, 295/35

Or

18x9.5 +23 front, 18x10.5 +15 rear with 275/40, 295/35

Some crappy cell phone pics I took today. 245/45 - 265/40 PSS.

What are the specs on your wheels? I've thought about going with a 245/45 for the fronts when I get my 18's put on, but it just looks like such a massive tire.. not sure how I feel about the look.

I'm running 18x8.5 +35 18x9.5 +15. 245/45 is same diameter as OEM for the fronts.

The reason it looks massive is because the Pilot Super Sport's sidewalls are just beefy. If you look at other tires there is a lip that comes out and breaks the look of the sidewall. The OEM Advans have these. On the PSS its just a fat sidewall lol.

That would be my set up if Michelin offered PSS in 275/40/18. 265/40/18 in the rear now will just have to do for now. :icon17:

synolimit 07-03-2013 03:46 PM

Was just told my RPF1's are on the way and my tires too but will be here in a week or so because of the holiday.

18x9.5 +45 in silver because they didn't have black or any other size
18x10.5 +15 in black

255/40, 285/35 tires for DD and something just for now so the car will roll.

I'm going to plasti dip the silver fronts till I can get more money and have them powder coated later.

Anyone know what spacer ill need?? I know the 18x9.5 +38 will work with a 15mm spacer because Mike tried. But will the 15mm spacer work with the +45?

chrischhorn 07-03-2013 07:35 PM

15mm should work. 20 if you wanna play it safe.

Do hub centric spacers matter since the rpf1 has a 73mm bore? The rotor is 65.9mm so no spacer will fit the new wheel. But obviously I can get one to match the rotor. It's way cheaper to just buy a flat spacer with long studs.
