Well then just stick for RE11 if you want that size  besides, cashing out so much money when you're not tracking are pretty much useless..unless you're a baller of course :roflpuke2:

Ah couldn't said any better myself

After much deliberation, I have chosen to go with Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 245/40 and 275/35 for my Sport Rays through Tire Rack. A nice perk is the $70 rebate offered on Michelins right now!

Hey OP I wanted to know how the tires are? I'm in the same boat about sizes and thinking about what tires. I have RE-11s in 265/285 and well here I am 6 months later and needing new tires now. Not to mention I really only drove on them for a month bc I was deployed. The tires were great I love them but not the longevity of them and the cost.

happytheman 04-02-2012 09:26 AM

Haven't yet gotten them. Going to be ordering then today if time permits. I gotta tell you though, the Pilot Super Sports are very highly rated..even through Consumer Reports. Onzedge has a set and nearly goes giddy like a schoolgirl when he hears that someone else has 'em.

I'll post back here when I get em tho. :)

V8Killer 04-02-2012 12:02 PM

Sounds good man. I'm still looking for a good price

happytheman 04-02-2012 02:25 PM

Yah they're expensive. I'm quoted some $1379 with shipping from Tire Rack.

damn 6 months? how many miles you put on them? thats terrible tread life.

Go with PSS, you wont regret. I had 255 / 275 on mine due to limited size we have here in Malaysia. Its rains heavily almost every day and my car is rock stable crusing at 220 kmh on highway, no hydroplanning yet. i can only compare it to the stock re050, wont even dare to hit water patch at 140 kmh with them. Plus you have 300 threadwear :-).

+1 for the PSS. We recently got them on the G37, and the car REALLY was able to be driven hard in the rain on a small backroad. Dangerous perhaps, but the tires didn't hydroplane a single bit and gripped like it was dry. The car seems like it can corner on the same level as the Z now. Can't wait to get them on the Z, but I still have enough tread left, and they are expensive tires!

happytheman 04-02-2012 11:02 PM

I heard that the re-11 didn't have very good tread wear, but dayum! :(

shaun66 04-02-2012 11:08 PM

I have stock size PSS, you won't be dissapointed. Although they probably could look a little meatier..

Ya pretty sad now I don't know what tires to get. I have drag radials of or the track so I just need something that will last and will do good on occasional street racing. We have back roads we close off and do it so it's safe.
