It's hard finding wider tires in 18's nowadays. I'd prefer to stick with 18's but will probably end up with a set of 19 so I can actually get the tires I want.

THIS. I hate that, even slightly larger 18, 295/35 hell 305/35 don't exist unless it's a drag tire. I dread the day I buy a vette and want to autocross it, there's maybe 2 tires made for them

315/30-18 is only 25.4" diameter though. You'd want 315/35-18 which is 26.7, right where the Z wants em. Only one I know of in that size is Toyo Proxes TQ though so you'd have to be cool with drag radials. Unless you know of others...

I'm tempted to give those TQ's a go. They apparently wear quite well for a drag radial. Usually that means they don't have the bite of others, but that's probably ok too.

More Meaty :yum:

I'm in process of buying new radials and through all the research the toyo's don't compare to say the nt05r or the Mickey Thompsons, just 2 cents

Roger that! The difference for me...I'm not doing straight lines so the decision is to run a narrower and taller tire or go with a shorter and wider tire for tracking. Choices are very limited so my next decision will be a toss of the the coin, 305's to get the height or 315's for a wider contact patch.

Hence the problem. I need something equivalent to an RE11 or PSS for daily and can't get anything remotely close in 18's anymore.

No 315/35 in popular make and models of tires is a gigantic pain in the *** BTW

Nor 325/35-18, which should be a more common size and exactly what I want.

ChaseZ 06-24-2017 10:06 PM

Think I'll just say F it and go completely the other way with 20x10 and 20x12 and drop the car again.
