Undo Powdercoat?
I just bought some Work Gnosis GS5 20" I like them but the only problem is they where powdercoated matte black as opposed to the original brushed silver they came with. Any suggestions as to how to get them to their original finish?

There is no way that I am aware of to reverse powder coating. You would need to re coat them silver . Not sure if someone can strip them and re finish the aluminum for the factory look. But I would imagine that to be an expensive procces

If you use aircraft stripper im sure you can remove it.

This is the stuff to use if you want to strip them. Like I said in the PM, if they weren't media blasted, they might be salvageable.
This is the only stripper that will actually dissolve the powdercoat and leave the metal exactly as it was before stripping, and just needing to be washed off with fresh water. Would probably take about 3 gallons at least though to submerge the wheel center. Eastwood Powder Coat & Paint Dissolver |
Thanks Mike and everyone else. I think the best thing to do is probably just repowder coat them silver.
