25mm spacers all around is better
I've been rolling on 25mm spacers in the back ever since I got the car in Feb '11, but nothing in the front. Most people are rolling with a 20/25mm setup but I personally don't think it's flush enough. So I went with 25's in the front as well and find that it's just right with a tiny poke just like the back.
I'm not dropped. I'll probably get Swifts later on. I remember seeing a guy with 25's all around and dropped on Eibachs with no rubbing problems. The one thing I did notice is how the car feels slower now with the added unsprung weight of 4.8lb for the front spacers and lugs. That means a total of 9.6lb for all sides. MMmmmm |

I'm lowered on H&R springs, & I was planning to get 20f/25r.. but since you say 25mm all around is better, I would like to see! |
I can agree with this the stock rays with 20mm all around still has a hint of sunk
|
ill take a picture tomorrow during the day
|
derrick what type of spacers are you running in the front? bolt ons or stud replacements? i heard bolt ons don't work
|
Well, I know that when I run the car hard through the canyons, there is a small part of the fender liner in the front that the tire contacts when the suspension is near fully compressed and that is with 20mm spacers in the front. From what I could see, anything more aggressive would make that rubbing more significant.

I'm on 20/25 z1 spacers w/ no issues at stock height. Looks perfect IMO.

i also started a thread back in march about painting the tire letters white for that GT look (http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...lettering.html). i decided to try it. it came out okay with 1 coat, but i should put in another 2
let me know what you guys think about it |
Yeah.. That's way too much poke in the front for me. 20mm with a drop on springs is my preference. Did you plan on lowering your Z?
|
You will not be able to notice the weight difference, your butt dyno needs a recalibration.

wdk- you should pick up my pair of Jline front fender trims to finish the look up front. it's silver painted but you can always have it painted to match your car. :)

do 20mm bolt on spacers work fine on the front with no rubbing inside of wheels??
I tried bolt on 15mm front and they ruined my wheels......... |
i would say you'd have a problem with rubbing if you were dropped enough but i'm not dropped so everything is good so far. my guess is that your front wheels were ruined due to an oversized tire? a taller sidewall means less clearance.
some people are saying that, due to the spacers, the front tires will rub this small thing sticking out of the fender liner but to me it's whatever. it's just plastic. |

um. i believe it comes down to proper installation. it was quite straightforward with the boltons. torque it down with a impact gun or torque wrench, and then retorque it again after a few days.
i only went with 25mm in the front because i wasn't finding the pictures of people's 20mm spacers flush enough. |
yeah bolt on 15 mm type spacers won't work on the front because the oem studs will hit the back of the wheel
|
so r u guys saying 20mm or 25mm bolt on spacers work fine and dont need to replace stock studs?

You can always trim the excess off of the studs. Just make sure you put a lug nut on, thread it all the way down, and THEN cut. When you remove the lug nut, do it slowly and it'll straighten out any threads that are messed up.
Or you could just run slip-on spacers with extended studs. It's really easy to swap studs. The only extra tool you need compared to bolt-on spacers is a hammer. |
Is there a possibility that you can take a picture of the stance of your car during the day time? :D

ill try tomorrow

EDIT: i just put my winter wheels on today since it's snowing tonight and tomorrow so i won't be putting my summers back on until probably monday or tuesday when the snow subsides |
but here's a thought in the meantime:
if you want a flush look with a tiny bit of poke, then go 25s all around if you want a pretty close to flush look then go 20s all around in my opinion, the people who are running the 20/25 setup have a slight poke in the rear, just like i do and obviously like it. running 25s in the front would give you the same amount of poke as the rear. no pun intended. otherwise, blow the $2-4k on proper offset wheels. i'd personally get 19x10.5-11 and 19x12. 275/315 tires |
im using z1 motorsports 15mm stud replacement on front and 20mm bolts on. im happy with 15/20 but i wish i went 25 on the rear and 20 on the front. it would have given the perfect flush. i reallllyyyy low, to the point that even going side ways on a speed bump my exhaust still scrapes on the ground lol. my wheels kinda touches the inside of the fender so 15/20 is perfect if ur low, 20/25 would ruin my tires. if ur not lowered or just lowered a lil bit go 20/25 but if there is no gap between tire and fender like me dont go 20/25, do 15/20

Any more pics with 25 spacers all around while being lowered?
