Urgent help!!!New setup...
 

Hey guys,if running with Swift Sport Springs Spec-R 1.3"inch front and 1" inch rear drop with 255/35/19 Front and 295/30/19 Rear tires(stock profile 40F 35R) with 20mm front spacing and 25mm rear spacing...I am using 19" stock Rays rims to have this setup....Do I get any rubbing issue and will it be too low?Comment needed...I am worry after done this setup and got an issue...Thank you and appreciate if anybody can help me~ :)

Specifications for the sports rims are as follows:

19x9 +47 front
19x10 +30 rear

With your planned spacers (20 front/25 rear) you just subtract and you get the following:

19x9 +27 front
19x10 +5 rear

For your fronts: You won't have any issues.
For your rears: You shouldn't have any issues but may need some slight additional negative camber.

I have a similar setup but with the OEM Nismo's 245/40-19 & 285/35-19 tires and a 1" front and 0.5" rear drop with Eibach springs and have experienced no problems with the rear however the front will rub the inner fender liner on hard bumps.

You'll be fine. There's a slim chance that you'll need to run a slight amount of negative camber in the rear.

"Too low" is up to you, but that setup won't make the car difficult to drive or cause you to scrape everywhere. Just be a little more cautious until you know what scrapes and where/when. You shouldn't have any issues with average driving. I've owned cars that were less than 2 inches off the ground, and that wasn't too low for me. My mother said her 3000GT was too low at 1/4" lower than stock. It's all relative.

i was looking on your website last week for the items...Unfortunately,I did not see Swift Springs on the store...i lived at Malaysia and shipping to here cost me a lot...i have to buy all in 1 shot...

Sorry to revive the thread, but similar question to the OP:

Looking to run 295/30/19 on rear stock Rays, 25 mm spacers, swift springs and -2.38* camber -- should that fit fine (speedo differences notwithstanding)???

That's a lot of tire for a 10" wide wheel. Why 295?

loled at -2.38 camber. is that with u in the car or no? full tank of gas or no? :icon17: camber angle changes as the sus compresses.

best you just try it at this point and see.

That's with me in the car getting road head from my wife -- it moves from -2.35* to -2.38* during climax :rofl2:

I could have sworn people were running wide rears on the OEM Rays, but I might be mistaken... anyway, I liked the extra grip in a straight line going from 275 to 285, and thought I'd try for a bit more, hence the question.

In any case, they won't work -- too low a sidewall, which i stupidly overlooked -- so I'm sticking with the Potenza's and owe Kenchan a beer or something.



Although, for future reference -- rather than everyone reporting/asking about their individual set-ups in one long thread, is there a good calculator and set of specific limits to keep in mind?

I found several online calc's that dealt with camber, offset, and of course tire size/overall diameter changes, but without a clear idea on how close is too too close to the strut, for example, how the hell is anyone supposed to figure this out without a lift and trial and error?

For example, how many mm of clearance do you have to work with before rubbing?
