Help with Ichiba type 2 spacers.

I finally got my 15mm spacers yesterday. By last night the rear ones went one easier than changing a tire, however when it came to the front ( at least the L front) I hit a minor road block. In between the lugs is what appears to be a small stud like projection that does not allow the spacer to seat itself.
What is it? Can't see it in any service diagrams. Can I remove it and how?

Yes, this is there to keep a person from mounting a rear wheel on a front axle. Use a 12mm wrench to remove it.

An "idiot" stud? Thanks for the help! :tiphat:
