Mounting your tires?
 

Where do yall get your tires mounted? I was talking to a rep at Goodyear and he told me he wont touch my wheels because the clamp they use to spin the wheels and mount the tires will damage my wheels since the spokes protrude further then the edge of the rim.

So how do I get my tires mounted?

BTW I have the OEM sport wheels.

dude = moron. but if they think they aren't capable, go someplace else.

Not sure of any good shops in your area, but Just gotta find one with a good reputation.

Actually, a lot of shops don't have the right equipment.

If you've got OEM wheels, the dealership can handle it. If you don't want to pay their prices, then call up a local shop that sells custom wheels. I'd offer to take care of you, but that's a long drive to get some tires mounted!

Find a performance shop. Should be plenty in your area.

Find a shop with a touchless or leverless type mounting equipment. Tire Rack usually tells you some of the shops that might have it, but check out the shop and ask before getting work done. I would do a small bit of research on touchless or leverless type tire mounting machines so you know what to look for.

^^ wat mike said. not all the shops tirerack lists have the touchless mounter.

Thanks guys for the input. I found a shop that says they have the right mount for performance wheels so ill go look at what they have tomorrow.

I am a manager at an after market wheel and tire shop and the best thing to do is to take it to someone that sells aftermarket wheels. The duckhead that is used to mount the tires is plastic so that way it avoids any scratching of the wheels.

Just make sure they use the torque gun correctly, not over tightening your lugnuts. They made my rotors off by over tightening the lugnuts, so after fussing alot they spun the rotors and re-roadforced balanced the tires. The first time they dinged all my rims and had to be refinished. Make sure they care and pay attention to details or you'll be missing work to go to the place and complain till they fix it. My wheel shaked from 70-80 and while braking after they put my tires on, i had to fight to get them to fix it.
