[QUOTE=gozfast;1130147]Where did you order them from and what was the delivery time quoted? Some of us may be looking for other options.[/QUOTE

PM sent

I ordered a set of spirit wheels back on febuary 4 th and paid in full. $5000. I was told my wheels would be in "way before may". I sent him a message just before may to ask where they were and he said on their way to him. I told him I booked hotels for shows and if I did not have the wheels I would be losing money being I won't be taking a car with stock wheels to a car show. He asked when my first show was and I told him may 6 th he assured me I would have my wheels in time. The date has came and gone and I have not heard from him since. I really hope he can resolve all the issues. If it does come down to having to get a bunch of names of people who have paid and got no product please count me in. Whatever it takes to get our wheels I'm willing to help

I really wanted the Venaci Spirit, but there's just too much doubt as to the time frame in getting the wheels back once they're ordered. I spoke with Rick and shared emails with him, and he seems like a great guy; but I just can't get past all of the posts on here regarding the ongoing issues. 4,5, 6 or even up to 8 months delivery is a non-starter for me.

I hope you realize that you just ordered into the same problem right? Work builds venaci, so lol should be quite a ride for you.

You are #10 on the list of people Rick owe money/wheel/kit to :shakes head:
Wonder how many more are out there b/c the title (Venaci Wheels) does somewhat relate to Rick but not like if it were VIP Status issue instead... just saying.

It should not be the same issue, I have friends that ordered Work wheels from other vendors and they did get their wheels in 2-3 months. This sounds specifically like a VIP Status issue.

Yeah last time I started a thread and titled it VIP Status it got closed quick so I figured this would be a safer route. It's frustrating to see all these people with the same problems.

I too have friends that have gotten their work wheels in a timely manner. I know stuff is shipping from Japan and yeah their a custom wheel but it's not like their hand carving them. All this stuff is done by precesion computers. It's 100% a VIP issue. I have bought everything from engine fluids to a twin turbo kit on this forum and never had an issue. On my invoice I have from VIP there is no order number in the spot designated which leads me to believe they weren't ordered when he said they were. My twin turbo kit was ordered through Vivid Racing and I paid lay away on it. When they sent me my invoice it still had an order number even though I hadn't fully paid the kit off.

He was in no way a **** to us or anything... he just wasn't there when we needed him. Especially when it's our $4k+ on the line...

GL abgyak tomorrow! I hope to hear some good news (again). I pretty much gave up...

That sounds like a con artist to me.

Ding ding ding. This come has been done time and time again. You guys need to stop giving him money and just order different wheels. And iirc Rick is part owner of venaci. So how is it work wheels come in on time if it's same manufacturer? Lol. Think about it. I personally don't have an issue with them I just can't stand ppl who rip off others. Especially after they gain their trust. This is a grade A con. And who cares if he's moving to a different warehouse or a different country. Business is business and bad business is what it is. To many excuses and spokes people. Where is the source??

The guy I ordered the GS-2's from gave me an eta of 8 to 10 weeks. Perhaps "several" would have been a better description of the timeframe.

Are people on long waits ordering custom rims, i.e. custom widths and offsets that aren't typical for our cars? I'm just curious if there is a manufacturing reason for this. I know there's already a list of people waiting, what would be really interesting is to get more samples to do a data analysis on. For example, did people who receive their rim around the same time order similar type wheel configurations? Are the outliers ordering crazy setups?

Consider that Volks, etc. are 3 month to 4 month waits if you order. Keep in mind, though, that you're ordering a wheel of which they make a big set of - I don't think you custom offset a Volk rim very often, if you do you paid up the arse to do it. The most you can do is custom coloring, and that's easy, it's the forging that's hard. I think ordering a 'Works wheel' also...heh, works the same way. Prescribed widths and offsets, and have at it.

But to manufacture a one-off custom wheel offset the way Venaci offers, the cost is really, really high. I wouldn't be surprised if the manufacturer waited a while to see if anybody else made a similar request so they can reduce manufacturing costs a bit. Of course, information like this should be known up front, so the buyer knows exactly what they're getting into. It really isn't as simple as you think to set up the CNC machines correctly.

Also, shipping from Japan is insane, and by ocean freight is the most cost effective thing to do. I was dying for months waiting for my amuse stuff to arrive piecemeal. Furthermore, and I hate to bring up bad memories, but keep in mind Japan did just get walloped by an earthquake, NOTHING is shipping out of Japan in an expedited fashion...hell, Subaru won't even let me know where my car is.

Not to defend the constant ETA updates and what not, and one year plus is getting excessive, but I'm saying that you still have to consider the engineering costs and time required to build a true 'custom' wheel. It's not as easy as flipping a switch in the machine.

Anyway, hopefully everybody arrives at a...er...peaceful solution that works for all parties involved.

To those who are already resorting to name calling in this thread again - that helps nobody. Stop it.
