Lug nut suggestions
Hey guys I'm looking for some help with lug nuts. I'll be getting forgestar f14s soon and I need some lug nuts to go with them. I need closed end lug nuts as I live near Chicago and do not want the lugs and studs to rust easily. Every brand Ive looked up had bad reviews on them except volk and rays, but those are $200+. I do not care too much about the weight just want something that works and doesn't look ugly. Also preferably under $150.

search around and you could get the rays for 150..lol.

I've been running Titek's, they're an affordable alternative:

I'm planning on getting H&R spacers so I'll be replacing the studs which are steel (correct me if im wrong) and most of the lug nuts are aluminum. Did anyone have a problem with the thread being worn out quickly because of this on both lug nuts and studs?

I have had no problems with my nrg aluminum lugs so far....

They are significantly softer than standard oem lugs. I would never use an impact on them.
that said, 80lbs is no issue. :) mine are Titeks openended. |

Would these work better than aluminum? And to anyone with open ended lugs, have you guys had any rusting issues?

I have MXP lugs. Which are open ended. They are holding up great. I have ARP studs so they hold up great. Not sure they'll rust though. But that's one thing people over look is the care of there studs. But as far as the lugs I love em. Very light also.

Wanted to share the info that I found about this. Aluminum lug nuts wont give you trouble with daily driving as long as you do not take your wheels off too often. As far as open ended lug nuts go, just like SPOHN said, they wont give you trouble as long as you remember to maintain your studs. I also found out that many people will switch from aluminum back to steel for the track use and I dont know how accurate this part is but some associations will require you to have steel open ended lug nuts for track use. So I guess its going to be the Buddy club open ended steel lug nuts for me. Does anyone else know of any other open ended lug nuts made out of steel and do you guys know if buddy club makes quality products?

NISMO BILLET RACING LUG NUT OEM on eBay! |
I've never seen those before.
Although, some dealers pass things off as Nismo at times when they are in fact just generic lugs. |
I have these because a friend sold them to me for 75 dollars, he got them for his evo but they were the wrong tread pattern... he is not computer savy and thought he couldnt do anything with them so he gave them to me for cheap..
they are worth retarded money for lugnuts (retail over 200), I was going to sell them but I felt guilty doing so.. http://passwordjdm.com/images/Products/3422L.jpg |

I will give you $0.50  |
The "Acorn" tappered lugs will not work on our Nismo's, we have to use a flat or "Mag" type seat for our cars and it's impossible to find anything different than what we currently have. :shakes head::ugh2:
