370z Wheel

20'' matte black forged wheel.
How would these look on matte white 370z?

These are 900bucks without the tires.
is that too much?

TreeSemdyZee 03-31-2011 06:02 PM

Way too much mostly because it looks bogus to me anyway. It looks like a painted Sport Package wheel and if it is, then there's no way it's a 20".

ilostmypill 03-31-2011 06:27 PM

that look 19" to me

Ron 03-31-2011 08:16 PM

why would you wanna spend that money on something that is exactly the same as a stock wheel? It could be a low quality knock off... I don't know what look you are going for, but check these ones out: http://www.the370z.com/tires-wheels/...-now-open.html

they are knockoffs of the sport package rims. I personally wouldn't buy knockoffs, but it is up to you.

they look kinda ugly but that's just me.

dainedazz 04-01-2011 01:48 PM

dude, just paint your stock rims if you got the Rays. lmao. but I'm with Kenchan on this one, design is fugly imho. not my cup of tea.

Where can I buy 19 or 20 white rims?

now you want white wheels? thought you were looking for black (original pict)??

just paint your stockers. talk to Mike in the forum. he does powdercoating.

That's fugly IMO. And I think Mike does not usually do wheels.

The baking process for powder coating forged wheels can actually weaken them, therefore powder coating is not recommended.

kenchan 04-01-2011 09:07 PM

Did you get that from the internets? :icon17:

I got it from all the major forged wheel manufacturer's input I have seen in a thread relating to this issue on L4P i.e. Forged Specialty, HRE, ADV1, and D2Forged, all said that sustained heat can alter the composition of the metal which can weaken it. Logically, people asked why heavy breaking did not have same effects and they said that heating and cooling cycles that braking exposes wheels to does not have the same effect as sustained heat over 30-60+ minutes of baking time.

I'm not an expert in metallurgy though, it did sound credible and all the companies had the same consensus.

thats wrong, they only bake them at 300-400 degree's, When they forged the wheel its heated and compressed at way higher heat. So that would make them weaker, from what your saying. :ugh2: Theres many companys that powder there wheels instead of painting, holds up better. Inless your try to say the chemicals make the metal wheel not as strong. Heat wont do anything to them. think about a forged piston and the heat that it has to hold up to, coming up on the compression stroke and hit with a HUGE amount of heat on the power stroke, this weakin the piston? U drive your car hard, for 30-60 minutes then shut it off, this weakin the piston, dont think so.
forging is there to be able to handle really high amounts of heat, and still retain its strength propertys.
