From what I gather (correct me if I'm wrong) it sounds like you want to maintain stock height and want to go either slightly or moderately aggressive. My suggestions for offsets in my earlier post was meant for that. 255/305 tires should work out fine, so long as the wheel widths are within what the tire manufacturer recommends. |
255/35 & 305/30 are not stock sizes in diameter...they are smaller. Stock is around 26.6 to 26.7" diameter depending on the brand you choose. With Hankook for example, the 255/35 is 26" and the 305/50 is 26.3".
Now I love the 255/35 & 305/30 combo myself, but yeah you'll want some higher offsets than +24 maybe if you're leaving it stock height. If not, a 245/40 & 295/35 is for someone very picky about stock diameter...they are just not as wide (could be heavier). I have 255/40 :( & 305/30 :) right now. This is just the tires that the wheels came with, but I plan on changing the fronts when they are worn. These are the exact wheel specs you mentioned with +24 all around, but with a Eibach Pro Kit -0.9"/-0.8" drop. Obviously if you raise the car up a little the wheels jump out easily toward the fenders. I have -1.4 front / -1.6 rear camber in these pics and a full tank of gas. http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...3-14182814.jpg http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...3-13111722.jpg http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...3-13111853.jpg http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...3-13105933.jpg |

Back to the original statement, I agree with you that you agree with me about higher offset (more positive) is good for stock height and camber. :) |

One other thing to mention about offset. The 370z nismo wheels stick out 30mm more in the rear than front. The +24 with 9" / 11" combo makes the rear stick out only 26mm more. So for a stock height car with no crazy camber maybe having the fronts in another 4mm would be a good idea? |

To answer both of you, yes i have NO desire to drop the ride height what so ever, so that definitely won't change.
Dj, i am looking to go slightly/moderate aggressive. Slightly adjusted: Forgestar F14: -------------- 19x9 +30 for the front 19x11 +24 for the back Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110: -------------- 255/35ZR19 for the front 305/30ZR19 for the back Muteki SR35 Lug Nuts (black/closed) Move TPMS over to the Forgestars. nismofo did you have any issues moving over the TMPS? Also, what lugs do you have? Thanks for your help guys, definitely want to get this right before blowing a few grand :) |
That should look really good! How long would your order take? Post some pics once installed.
|
although i have everything quoted out and ready... the funds is just not quite there yet. Hopefully in the next 6 months or so.

I think I have finally decided on mine, and it looks like Forgestar finally has added a 19x9.5 size:
This is what I just ordered in Bronze Burst: 19x9.5 offset 30 with 275/35/19 Hankook 19x11 offset 23 with 305/30/19 Hankook I think with this setup it will make the wheels more flush, but won't stick out of fender, or have any potential rub issues with full suspension compression during aggressive driving. I also chose this offset since most Z buyers are getting the fronts 19x9 24 - this is equivalent to 19x9.5 30. I wanted 34 for the front, but Forgestar says it won't clear the brakes. I went with Eric at Getyourwheels.com, gave the best price. Anybody got thoughts on this? |

Good call on the 9.5s now being avail!
If i change out my 9 for a 9.5 should I keep the +32 for a NON DROP? Funds are coming in, so I am hoping to order sometime next week!!!!! |

+32 is like adding a 21mm spacer to the oem wheels. It might be too much at stock height. What I have seen is that 15mm is what most are putting on the front - some have 20mm.

Yes for a STOCK height car that is going to be too much. What I have seen from your specs so far is that you are pushing the wheels farther out than a Nismo 370z and putting smaller diameter tires on. This is going to make the car look 4x4 because of how the gap will look and how easily the sun will hit the top edge of the tires. You might be able to see nearly 1/3 of the top of your tire tread standing next to the car whereas right now you see almost zero. My thoughts for a stock height car without making it look funny (taller) or handle funny. Start with the nismo 370z specs. For a stock height car the nismo has good offsets and widths of 19x9.5 +40 and 19x10.5 +23 on 245/40 & 285/35. I think this should be your target "look" for the car. Once you start pushing the wheels out or making the tires smaller with 255/35 and 305/30 you will start wondering if you should lower it. So with forgestar 9.5" and 11" the only thing you'd be changing is the rear width by an additional 0.5" (13mm). So just take that extra 0.5" and move it to the inside of the rear wheels. +29 rear offset on a 11" forgestar would give you a near identical look to a nismo on the outside. Then there is the tire choice you have for stock height; I still think this is too small. Again, start with the nismo tires sizes and adjust from there, but try not to makes the tires any smaller. You're adding 0.5" wider wheels than a nismo so maybe go from a 285/35 to 295/35. So my suggestion for stock non-4x4 looking specs on forgestar f14 would be: 19x9.5 +40 245/40R19 19x11 +29 295/35R19 (not a lot of tires choices here...BFG is one) These are just my thoughts....its not right/wrong. If you want a more aggressive offset than a stock 370z nismo then I would start with the offsets I mentioned (+40 & +29) and subtract from those EQUALLY for the front and rear. If you want 5mm more aggressive than go with +35 front and +24 rear. Just know that the more you push them out the more the car will beg to be lowered. I hope this helps. If you have a stock 370z you can see in person for reference that would be a huge help. Decide if you like the look. I'm not 100% sure if the suspension height is identical as a regular 370z though. I think the front is higher for bumper clearance. I know for a fact that the stock 350z nismo was taller than a stock 350z. |
Thanks for you input. This is definitely turning out to be a much harder decision than I originally thought!

There are tons of variables. The width, offset, ride height, camber, tire size, tire brand and style of wheel all completely change the look. Another thought is that these are flat faced wheels with no lip. Generally the best look for a flat faced wheel is flush to the outsides and on a car with little gap. The nismo wheels are not flat faced. If you were lowering the car, I have completely different opinions on these specs. But I'm listening to what you want, and I'm still trying to help based on your input. I can link you to some 370Zs (stock height) with semi-aggressive specs and the smaller 255/35 & 305/30 sizes. What you'll find is 10 pages of people saying "lower that car"....lol. You'll hear that regardless, but even more so with smaller tires and the wheels pushed out to the fenders. When most people with Nismo wheels lower their car they add 10 or 15mm spacers (and smaller/wider tires) because the camber/gap changes everything. The negative camber makes the biggest difference and really sucks the top of the wheels in front/rear (unless you run a front camber kit). If you were to lower the car, then I would easily suggest another 10 or 15mm lower offset (plus Forgestar doesn't sell any truly aggressive offsets for us). But I have not heard that, so I won't suggest that at all. 5mm farther out than a stock 370Z Nismo would be the most I'd suggest stock height. I don't think this is a bad look at all with what you're wanting. I "think" there is plenty clearance on the backside for this to clear the rear shocks as well for another 13mm. I would suggest an alignment for sure. http://www.freshalloy.com/files/images/nismo.jpg http://photos.evo.co.uk/images/front...o_313042_7.jpg http://www.drivearabia.com/news/wp-c...ismo-1-450.jpg http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/20...smo-370z-2.jpg http://www.q80s.com/wp-content/nissa...70Z_2010_1.jpg http://image.motortrend.com/f/roadte...rters_view.jpg http://www.nissan-insight.com/wp-con...nismo-370z.jpg |
If you have the sports package brakes, I think with the 9.5, the least aggressive Forgestar will go is 30 (so it fits the brakes). I actually wanted 34, but had to go with the more aggressive 30 so they fit. Might want to confirm with Forgestar, but check with them.

I'm not 100% sure, but fairly certain a 19x9 and 19x9.5 Forgestar have the same spokes as far as concave goes. I think they just add or remove from the backside of the wheel (hub) which is why lower offset wheels can easily be heavier. Here are some specs comparing my fronts to the ones I suggested to rarwz. Looks like the +40 on a 9.5" push the outside of the wheel 9.5mm farther in. So if the spokes are exactly the same between 9" & 9.5", I think that would leave about 6.5mm (or maybe 1 or 2mm less) of gap between the spokes and the calipers. 19x9" +24 backspacing 5.42" frontspacing 3.58" 19x9.5" +40 backspacing 6.29" frontspacing 3.21" Variance (Inches) backspacing 0.87" <<< Outside edge of wheel comes in (+) frontspacing -0.37" <<< Outside edge of wheel comes out (-) Variance (Millimeters) backspacing 22.50mm <<< Outside edge of wheel comes in (+) frontspacing -9.50mm <<< Outside edge of wheel comes out (-) |
That is definitely something else that basically voids everything I just wrote above, it looks like on their site the 9.5" are the "deep concave" just like the rears. I'm not a fan of the front/rear faces being identical, but this means the spokes do in fact curve in more aggressively than mine.....and just like you said, probably won't clear.
This is frustrating because I'm spending my time trying to help, but there are limitations...LOL. I'd rather spend my time helping right now, rather than anyone wasting their money on something they don't like. |
lol.
and here i thought i was going to post my pre-researched numbers, get a few  and be good to go. I have an email, but will prob end up calling anyways, in with forgestar and muteki to make sure everything goes and fits right. This is quickly turning into a nightmare. stupid rims :( rep for all though! |

Good call, i failed to notice that on the site. I do like the stock non-sport wheels and how the backs are deeper than the front. SO i guess i'm back to 9 up front instead of 9.5. M0 options m0 problems. Edit: I think there should be a thread that lists all of this stuff in an organized fashion. something like Stock Height: -------------------- 18x? offset threashold: a to b. Offset a may want +mm spacers, offset b may want +mm spacers. 19x? offset threashold: a to b. Offset a may want +mm spacers, offset b may want +mm spacers. 20x? offset threashold: a to b. If you're going back to a 9" front, then there is very good hope that they will fit.
19x9" +33 19x11" +29 This setup puts the outside edge of the wheels 0.5mm farther out front/rear than the Nismo 370Z wheels. 19x9" +33 is 9mm farther in than my 19x9" +24. And there appears to be about 16mm gap between my spoke and front calipers. So to me, this setup appears like it'll work just fine (to me). |
Not sure why, but i have F14s 19x9F 19x11 R with +24 all around and my rear is no were near as flush as nismofo, and its been bothering me... Im lowered with Tein S Techs that have a very subtle drop. I was able to get back to spec allignment with out adjustable arms.
Edit: I bet i just need some more drop and some camber arms. http://www.the370z.com/members/nitex...-back-home.jpg |
I Finlay ordered my forgestar last week in 19x9F +24 and 19x10R +20. Ill be dropping the car on swift springs most likely in the beginning. i just wanted to know what size spacer would i need for the rear to match the front and have a flush look and would it be OK to drive with the front initially being wider than the back?
|
Quote:

You'll need a 10 or 15 mm spacer for the rear with the specs you ordered. I would go with 15 mm since you'll be lowered.

Offsets don't affect widths of the wheel. He can go with his stock sizes with the 9 inch wheel, and choose an offset that doesn't interfere with the fender.
|
I want to use stock tires but i got the lowest offset that they had for 10 inch which is +20. I did not want to use spacers but its the only choice
|

And the truth is that forgestar does not make awesome offsets. They are limited to what they can do since this is a one piece wheel. Personally I'd love my wheels about another 5mm front and 10mm rear farther out. The most I can push the rears out is 1mm with their specs. I have talked with Peter at forgestar about this. He says there is a 19x12 F14 in the works....but a +42 offset I believe which will suck them in farther. |
what the widest size tires would you be able to run on the 12 width once than, and would that even fit on the Z
|
called forgestar today, they said:
19x9 +25 up front 19x11 +28 in the back I trust what they say, but you guys warned of the +23 up front... +25 isn't much off of that! I would *assume* +30 would be a safer offset to go with, correct? |
Seriously? whats with all the +28+43? Thats not going to be flush at all, again i do not feel im flush at all with 19x9F 19x11R +24 all around.
And when i ordered my wheels i was told i can get any offset i choose (ideally +20F +15R) However they would not guarantee fitment and in the case the wheels did not fit, i could not return them. Just fyi, im running 275s upfront, and 305s in the rear. |

19x9.5 + 30 19x11 + 28 is what forgestar recommended, Eric said +23 on the back, but I went with what forgestar said. He said he just talked to forgestar and they are on a 3-4 week order right now. Fingers crossed! |
Sounds good - Eric is a nice guy with great prices. Not sure how much Forgestar really knows on what fits best (as well as everyone else :icon17:) - it really does come down to preference. With your offsets, it is like adding a 23mm spacer to the front and 15mm spacer to the rear - you might want to rethink what Eric advised you with. Yeah, I got the 3-4 weeks from Eric last week, so I am down to 2-3 wheels. Which color did you go with?
|
I went with matte black. After seeing the double down pix, i knew what i wanted.
I did some *rough* measurements outside, and it looks like the front could go ~20mm to be flush. I'll see if its not too late to adjust to +36, which should put me at 17mm farther out. 3mm to be on the safe side. The backs are fine, i would rather be 'safe' and just add a 5mm spacer later on if need be. EDIT: got a reply back from Eric saying that +36 won't clear the brakes are the touring and sport wheels the same offsets? There should be a post with all these specs, maybe i'll start it if i get some input! try to help other idiots like myself not throw away 2k |
Yeah, 30 is the highest you can go for the 9.5s, to clear the brakes.
