Snow set

I went window shopping on tirerack.com today and put together this set:

225/50R18 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 Blackwall
on Enkei Lusso Black wheels with machined lip 18x8

It comes out to $1440 plus $220 shipping. Is that a crazy price?

Here is a mockup of the Enkei's:

yeah man that's a bit much for a winter set.

also, i would suggest not getting any lip/polished lip on a 18'' wheels, it will make them look tiny and not look right on the Z.

Look for used base 18" wheels instead and buy winter tire for those.

that's what I did, you can put together a winter set like that for around $1000 like that. and the wheels will also be in Z fitment.

while snow tires work on RWD cars it's still pretty sloppy vs FWD with snow tires.

i recommend you get a FWD beater dd + snow tires if you're going to drive in snow conditions if applicable...

i run WS60's (better perf in snow vs LM60) on my dd.

I have a jeep grand cherokee, but the driver's side window broke, windshield wiper came off, there's a squeaking sound coming from the front end (bearing or universal joint), and I plugged up a head gasket leak after even replacing it and the head. (and it's still slowly leaking coolant). CEL has been on and inspection comes up in May. Light won't stay off after turning it off, and the code is due to an addition of a clutch fan after disabling electric fan. It's just one thing after another and I'd like a backup plan.

That said, I am totally clueless when it comes to LM60s, WS60, LM-25s, offsets, spacers, staggered, 18x8, 18x9, +42, +38, etc -- I just plain don't know what combination will fit. It's all foreign to me.

I'll do some more searching through the threads, but it's pretty frustrating.

Is that price with new tire pressure monitors? If so, delete those and you will be good.

just get stock 18's, they are the cheapest 18's you're gonna find, and they fit better than anything else you're gonna find. with those, get 245/45/18's of whatever winter tires you want. blizaaks, dunlop wintersport... etc

don't spend the extra money for wheels that are gonna be tucked in a so far. plus 18's with a lip look tiny on this car.

^^ yah, i too would get stock 18's and run a square setup (245's all around).

polished lips will get all pitted and corrode under the clearcoat from salt so best to get non-polished, painted wheels. i speak from experience on a set i use to have on my dd... :ugh2:

I think these cheap rims look pretty good for a winter set.
