Tire flat spots

Found a lot of good storage info here. I usually don't deep store the cars, but there's been a long string of winter weather here, and there's more salt on the roads than snow on the ground.

Anyone know about how long it takes to get flat spots on the stock tires?

Best advice is to put it on jacks depending how long the car is going to be sitting in storage or in the garage.

I will guess it takes more than a few months to get flat spots on the tires if the car is just sitting there. :dunno:

Almost never.

When I put the car into storage, I inflate the tires to the max air pressure listed on the tire. Before I drive it again in the better weather, I reduce the pressure to the recommended pressures listed on the sticker on the drivers side door.

I haven't had a tire flat spot proplem in over 10 years.

depending on tires about 4-5wks if inflated to normal psi... usually the thumping will go away if you drive it around but it can become permanent if left for a long time.

get flatstoppers to be safe and inflate to 42psi. if not, turn the tires by hand 1/3 turn every 3wks or let the car roll forward/aft to get it off the part of the tread that it was sitting on.
