Went with a polished lip and a charcoal grey center... possibly a shade darker than some of the lighter gunmetals..

It was tough to not do black lips but the guy in there was really cool and we arranged a deal that if I want to go black on the lips afterwards that he would take care of me. So maybe a summer polished than next summer black.


He is a honest straight shooter that had me dieing at some of his responses to callers who didn't really know what they were saying . He was borderline rude To some but only if you didn't know what you were talking about. He was extremely nice to me tho and explained that volks and works are his favorite wheels to refinish as the quality of the metal and two piece construction are top notch.

He is super confident in his work And seems VERY knowledgable. I'm confident they will come out great , I'm going to do a nice write up on his shop upon completion.

Ran me 600 otd for all 4 repolished and centers changed
To charcoal grey. Not too bad.

Now I need to decide on what rubber to use. I am leaning towards 255/285 re11 But may do the hankook 275/305 combo. I have until march to decide that tho.

Finally picked them up today.. they came out great.. they need to be cleaned up a bit as they got a little dirty in the shop from mounting the tires I guess ?

ill take better pics soon though.. and prob mount them within a week... i have to put rear studs in too and its currently sleet and snowing out and the forecast for next few days is awful so they are gonna stay warm for a while.

als has a great gunmetal color, did my wheels there 2 years ago in gunmetal. loved how they looked.

The guy is such a character... He speaks his mind and tells you how it is. No *** kissing from him to his customers thats for sure

Is it powder coating or paint? as guys here are very reluctant to powder coat Volks, dont know why?
